they say YOU put him in the white house but i know better lord. i won't question your ways, which are mysterious and unknown to me, but surely, you can see all of your children that he's oppressed and murdered, in your name, and gravely in vain.

To me such a prayer is taking the Lord's name in vain.

Do I pray for Bush? Yes. I pray that God's mercy will soften his heart and that he will see that what he is doing and the people who are advising him are wrong. I pray for peace and for his soul.

If you are Christian, Jewish, Wiccan, Pagan or religious... PRAY!
But pray for kindness and good, for mercy and forgiveness, for understanding and for grace.

To pray that someone, even the vilest most noisome toad (such as Dubya), is harmed or sent to Hell is wrong. It is a misuse and profanation of the most sacred power we have, the ability to converse with the Divine.

To a great degree it's like playing Russian Roulette. Prayer is powerful and if you believe in the Wiccan Rede or the Magickal Law of Fivefold return, to pray for another to be harmed is to (in effect) invite that harm on yourself.

If you cannot bring yourself to pray for this administration, at the very least, pray for peace.
