That above all is what bothers me most. I do not disagree that terrorism ,both foreign and domestic, must be eradicated. To prevail in that type of conflict does not require tanks, planes, bombs, artillery or any of the other war goods that the armament folks love to sell. It instead requires, accountants, intelligence officers and folks that make things go bump in the night.
This group of politicians, congress and executive, are so committed to the military-industrial complex that every conflict is viewed as another reason to buy more tanks, planes, bombs, artillery and any other battlefield equipment that can be thought up by the armament folks.
The battleground in a war on terrorism is down the alley, in the basement and is fought with a surgical precision so that each victory or defeat goes unnoticed to the civilian population. It is not some shock and awe operation. Of course shock and awe makes better campaign posters.
