Poll question: How would you rate DU on the political spectrum ?
Edited on Sun May-09-04 05:50 PM by kentuck
You do not necessarily have to use your own political standing, far left, moderate, conservative, or freeper in disguise, but what is your opinion of where DU is on the political spectrum on the average?

9. i think it depends on where you stand on the political spectrum.
To me it appears centrist because I am far left in my views. I dont consider my evaluation "scientific" because I believe I tend to notice the views I don't agree with and dwell on those more than those that I do agree with. But I agree with you on really far left people tending not to fit in here..I don't feel like I do but I don't mind so much.

8. A "real" country? As much as I loath what Bush and Co. have done...
...to America, the US is very much a real country. I resent the implication.

10. No kidding.
I'd like to hear more about these "real countries" that Orange and Green is so fond of and is no doubt planning to move to very shortly.

...and I think his post is symptomatic of the displaced America-bashing some wannabe "proooogreeeesssssiiiives" participate in at DU.

22. Wellll-
It used to be a real country- but the way things are drifting to the right, I swear that if Shrub gets re-selected, I`ll either lose my sanity, or take up residence in Canada. Frankly, I don`t recognize the America I grew up in.

11. I wonder if anyone calling DU "far left"
is over the age of 40 without having grown up in a far right household?

Since about 1982, I have met very few people who are actually "far left".

19. A mixture

We have a few Stalinists here who have pictures of hammers and sickles in their sigs (shudder), but they are more authoritarian.

We have Kucinich-type liberals, and we have those in between Kucinich and Kerry, and we have those who are more center-right like Kerry.
