Gun violence costs the USA $100 billion a year
Evaluating Gun Policy
Effects on Crime and Violence
Jens Ludwig and Philip I. Cook, eds.

Compared with other developed nations, the United States is unique in its high rates of both gun ownership and murder. Although widespread gun ownership does not have much effect on the overall crime rate, gun use does make criminal violence more lethal and has a unique capacity to terrorize the public. Gun crime accounts for most of the costs of gun violence in the United States, which are on the order of $100 billion per year.

And we the taxpayers pay this bill even if don't own or approve of guns. Non gunowning citizens are force to pay for sins of the gun owners in higher taxes reduced freedom and reduced services. No wonder cities want to sue the gun industry.

5. Guns and ammo are taxed.
10% for handguns
11% for long guns and ammunition.

10. Cars should be taxed...
... to pay for the BILLIONS in lost property and medical services they cause.

Gun control is a non-starter - and I'm surprised that there is anyone left who can't see it. I don't like gun violence any more than you do, but gun control hasn't and won't do jack shit to help. Nothing.

Folks who are truly concerned about gun violence need to find a plan B. Not only are Americans not going to get behind plan A, and not only is it hurting Democrats unnecessarily, GUN CONTROL DOESN'T WORK BECAUSE THERE ARE MILLIONS AND MILLIONS OF HANDGUNS OUT THERE AND THERE IS NO WAY TO CONTROL THEM.

Trying to find ways to put toothpaste back in the tube seems like a real waste of time.
