Should we lobby the Vatican to deny communion to Repugs?
Most Catholic Repugs are just like any other: pro-death penalty, and pro-Iraq war. Technically that makes them violators of the Church's teachings. Why don't we lobby the Pope to deny Communion to someone like Rick Santorum?

1. and anyone who uses contraceptives
which many repugs do, and have sex outside of marriage

yes, i think the catholics should stand up and take back their church, not demo/repub, but fellow catholics in unity

2. Don't stop with the RC church
Bu*h is a Methodist...they are very clear in their opposition to the death penalty. Not sure, but I think chimpy still holds the record for the governor with the most executions in a 4 year term.

7. Snowe is pro-choice, but I don't know if she's a catholic
Arnold, Rudy and Pataki are.

It does appear that the church is singling out democrats. I guess the archdiocese of Boston can afford to pay off all those lawsuits and no longer need Kennedy donations or Kerry/Heinz donations.

The catholic church lost their moral authority a long time ago, not just from the pedophile priests. The crusades, the burning of alleged witches, the 2000 year history of christian anti-semitism enforced by law and culminating in the holocaust, the persecution of Galileo-all together, it's enough to make one start believing Jack Chick's anti-catholic tracts!

9. Snowe is Greek Orthodox
Susan Collins and Christy Todd Whitman are Catholics and pro-choice. And the Church should be going after them like they are Kerry and Daschle and other Democrats.

This is evidence of politics, not Church doctrine, and the tax exempt status should be challenged. How do we do that?

6. His Holiness does have an email address
john_paul_ii@vatican.va

This was set up for his 83rd birthday, so I don't know if it's still active or not. You can also find your Catholic bishop at http://www.usccb.org/bishops.htm

12. When you mix religion and politics
both come up worse for the event. This issue should more than demonstrate the truth of that statement.
