Republicans are the Wrong Architects for a democratic society.
You would not hire an auto mechanic to build a skyscraper. You would not hire an architect to work on your car. Why is it then conceivable that a group of people, the Republicans, who do not believe in a democratic society could be successful in organizing and implanting a democratic, free and open society anywhere.

The Republican party has long ago accepted principles which are non-democratic, closed and lead to an oppressive society. Such ideologues do not have the philosophic background or experience to bring about the form of government that they are verbally touting.

They are they wrong people for the task they have set for this nation.

2. Which is OK, because they hate democracy anyway
Somewhere, waiting to be voted there is a bill in the House saing in effect that: "This is not a democracy, but a republic"

And then, there's good ol' Scalia who once said: "The (Federal) courts should thell The People to take a walk. The Constitution is here to protect us from The People"

Democracy is a curse they only wish on them brown people.

3. The republicans have come a long way...
...from the party of Abraham Lincoln. He is probably spinning in his grave down in Springfield.

4. They are not trying to build a democratic society
That's just pablum for the gullible. They won't hold elections as long as it's possible that the winner will be an anti-US Iraqi. Democracy requires that you accept some unpleasant electoral outcomes. Clearly, they are not willing to hold elections while an unpleasant outcome is possible.
