Where is Christiane Amanpour these days?
She seems to have disappeared from TV. Wasn't she critical of TV reporting several months ago?

1. Yes, she said the coverage was not good before the war.
I remember a thread about it. I said I worried there would be recriminations, but people said there would not be because of her popularity.
I hope to goodness that is not the case.

8. I don't think she's gone, but she's married to Jamie Rubin.
He's a Clinton State Department official now working for the Kerry campaign.

21. Oh, ick. Please don't mention Ashleigh (breathless) Banfield
in the same breath as the sublime Christianne Amanpour!

Not only is Amanpour married to Jamie Rubin, but I think they had a baby last year, so maybe she's being a mommy.

3. There was another reporter, not Christiane, who was critical
and attacked by another anchor from her network. Cute, brown haired, glasses, who was that?

5. CNN best reporter IMO Christiane Amanpour is on ice

The Bush Nut huggers at CNN like it that way.

They will avail themselves of her prodigious talent when it looks like Dimson is going down the crapper & nothing they do can save him.

7. Here is something that was on CBS news....
Edited on Sat May-08-04 11:33 PM by whistle
...back on February 8, 2004

(CBS) For an American soldier in Iraq, there is no more dangerous neighborhood than what has come to be known as the Sunni Triangle, the area west of Baghdad, around the town of Fallujah.

American soldiers are fighting a classic counter-insurgency, but if they are ever to win it, the first thing they will have to do is pacify this key piece of Iraqi real estate. Correspondent Christiane Amanpour reports.

<snip>

Looks like CNN let her go when sh accused the Bushies of trying to control the news. I say her on CBS earlier this year, but I have not seen her in the last six weeks. Scary!

11. We need to start buying out the media companies. Pool all our money.
Look at all of the money we raised for Dean and Clark. We could each buy 5 shares of stock in Murdock's company and fire the board of directors - do a hostile takeover. We could then fire Rupert's ass.

Then onto Sinclair, Clear Channel and so on. It's actually quite do-able.

19. What say we get Air America Radio afloat, first?
Couldn't we all funnel money into MoveOn.org, and then MoveOn.org could do big ad buys on Air America?

(Of course, the MoveOn AAR ads would need to be of the "get out the vote", "voter registration", "meetup" variety, since not many AAR listeners need much convincing of the need to oust *. Or maybe MoveOn could focus the AAR ads on local and state elections, as well; at least in those places where AAR is available over the air.)

9. She's still on CNN International, which I can only get on weekends.
CNN Bush, would rather not show her. She also does some stuff on Sixty Minutes. I think she is working on a hot story and it will come out soon.

12. She's on ice for telling the truth
I don't think she will capitulate to the warmonger's propaganda. She is a class act and a real reporter.
