Abu Ghraib camp named after 9/11 victim?
I could not believe it when I heard it on the radio, but I found a confirmation of this.

The vast majority of Abu Ghraib's inmates live in the rambling tent city, Camp Ganci, named after Peter J. Ganci, the New York City Fire Department chief killed in the Sept. 11 attacks.

The wing was squeaky clean, but there was a disturbance: Several distraught women inmates on the second floor were crying out incessantly, pleading their innocence. Their shrieks echoed in the chambers.

This makes me sick in 2 different ways.

1 - It implies YET AGAIN that there is a correlation between Saddam/Iraq and the attacks on 9/11 and between the detainees and 9/11. And this I am sure helped motivate a lot of soldiers over there, and played on their emotions.

2 - How can they think that to honor a victim of this attack, someone who most likely died a hero's death trying to save people regardless of their nationalities, it is appropriate name a prison/torture camp after him?

Our government has made Unaccountability and Revenge the 2 pillars of the American Way. Maybe we should put those words as a motto on the new dollar bill.

3. Part of the strategy !
Makes sense now, the mindset was always about 9/11, this reinforces the psychological influenced violence and "anything goes" mentality. It goes right to the top.

5. I believe that nearly everyone in the military
thinks that Iraq is responsible for 9/11. Bush keeps saying Iraq is an important part of the *War on Terrorism* which leads them to believe they are fighting to avenge 9/11. The only *news* they get is FOX and Rush is on their radio, the propaganda is pervasive.
