Confusion: WHO is accused of raping "young boys"?
I had assumed it was the very same folks who were responsible for the rest of the humiliation, torture, etc., but this article says it was Iraqi guards who did the raping:

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/4855930/

<snip>

Rumsfeld did not describe the photos, but U.S. military officials told NBC News that the unreleased images showed U.S. soldiers severely beating an Iraqi prisoner nearly to death, having sex with a female Iraqi female prisoner and “acting inappropriately with a dead body.” The officials said there was also a videotape, apparently shot by U.S. personnel, showing Iraqi guards raping young boys.

<snip>

What gives? This should be made clear, no?

and performed by Iraqi Soldiers... Either way...it's bad stuff.

3. Seems pretty clear to me.
At least it is clear what Rumsfeld and "the officials" are saying.
The reporting is very clear and uses "U.S. soldiers", "U.S. personnel" and "Iraqi guards" quite specifically.

4. There are also reports of a US 'contract interrogator' doing that...
This was reported when the first batch of photos were released. I think they worked for CACI.

5. Is it illegal to stand by a watch a crime being committed without trying
to stop it or report it?

have it. It's hard to tell what is legal or illegal in Iraq right now. I am sure being an accessory to rape is illegal under the UCMJ.

Regardless of the legalities of it, it is morally disgusting.

To me, standing around watching, and filming that carries the same burden of guilt as committing the act.

9. How could they even try? How do you justify child rape?
Will Rush refer to it as Fraternity hazing?

Will some RW asshole on Faux refer to it as just 'blowing off steam?'

They make me sick.

10. Yeah, this has nothing to do with a "Good Samaritan Law"
Filming a rape is complicity in the rape. It is not passive, but active.
