It doesn't matter who resigns or not... The war is lost.

A war I did not want, I would add.

Whatever the media or the GOP does to save Rumsfeld and Chimpy's ass here in the states doesn't matter. The media in Europe and the Middle East are not yet owned by Rupert Murdoch and they will not let this go.

Rumsfeld, Chimpy and the Pentagon have lost this war for us by becoming the very type of person they said they went to war to save us from.

It's over.

1. The war was lost before it began
We went in unilaterally, straining our relations with other nations.

The idiots in charge, who had no military experience, arrogantly thought they knew better than experienced military experts.

NO PLANS were made for what happened after we "won" the war. The neocons thought roses and candy would take care of things, I guess.

2. we can all kiss our economic, military, and ethical
so called supremacy good bye. People compare this conflict to Vietnam. . .I feel it is truly more akin to the Soviet's Afghanistan. . .the conflict that will break us of our alleged superiority.

Done and done.

Maybe. . .just maybe "superpowers are no longer appropriate for this still new millenium."

Thanks George, for demonstrating that for us all with such unimaginable ineptitude.

3. Yup, we had credibility/Honor, no matter how small, but they were
there..... now both gone...................for a long time.

All because of following Rush L and his Fundie friends. got brainwashed in the process.

7. And to think the neo-cons were dreaming of taking on Iran, Syria,
Sausi Arabia, and every other country in the mid-East. The reality is, we have a $400BB defense budget, enough nuclear weapons to obliterate any enemy, a US Navy that can control the oceans and an AF that rules the skys.....but we can only further our interests when we use diplomacy and multi-lateral coalitions. President Clinton understood that, too bad Dimson didn't.

8. I agree Sagan. Though I suspected
It was lost with the uprising in April that brought the Sunnis and Shiites together. With this lastest episode of aWol* horror I know for sure it is lost.
