Iraqi inmates freed, dumped at quarry

http://www.denverpost.com/cda/article/print/0,1674,36%7E27059%7E2127134,00.html

Scores of prisoners released from the controversial Abu Ghraib prison Tuesday were forced to take a winding, nearly five-hour journey through central Iraq on three hot, rickety buses escorted by U.S. military Humvees before being deposited without explanation in the middle of a gravel quarry near Saddam Hussein's hometown of Tikrit.

It was unclear why the detainees, at least a hundred of them, were dropped off at the remote location 120 miles north of Baghdad.

Some got rides home from relatives who had frantically followed the buses in their vehicles. Others climbed into the back of a dump truck or returned to their buses and got a ride back to Baghdad.

A few were still milling about on the dirt road where they were released when a reporter and photographer left the scene.

U.S. military officials didn't respond to several requests for comment about the way detainees were released. Soldiers who escorted the convoy said briefly that there was some kind of mix-up, then they quickly drove away.

One of the Iraqi bus drivers said angrily as he was driving away: "They are playing with their nerves. They are trying to destroy them. This is not the first time."

1. Getting rid of the evidence?
I hope that they make it safely to their destinations. I fear that most of them will be homeless and that many of their families are dead.

5. Which is, of course, what Hitler did when the Red Cross came calling
Is there ANYONE left who still can't see the Bush-Hitler similarities?

2. Gosh, we're classy.
What kind of behavior is this? Kindergarten?

Are the phone lines so bad we couldn't contact relatives for a pickup?

6. Hell, those people could have been executed after being dropped off
and the cameras went home.

Probably they weren't, but who can tell anymore?

8. after American soldiers ripped up their intestines with broom sticks
and chemical sticks....burned their skin with phosphoric acid....

one would expect bush* to exhibit some of that 'compassionate conservatism" and send in a medical hospital to repair their bleeding internal parts and skin-graft some semblance of normalacy, and treat their infections...

plus, there are reports that about one-third of the inmates have tuberculosis....and likely a variety of venerial diseases after the sex-torture snuff pogram operated under the command of george w. bush*.....

bush*'s victims need medical doctors, and rape counselors....and much much more...
