Isn't it time for C-SPAN to change call-in numbers ??
There is one line for Bush supporters. There is one line for Democrats and one line for all others? Now that the Democrats have their candidate, why isn't the Democrat line changed to Kerry line? Or why isn't the Bush supporters line changed to Republican line? Would it not be more fair to have a Republican line, a Democrat line, and another line? Why do Bush supporters have to be separated from the rest of the nation?

1. They changed it the other day when they had a very specific
question about Kerry and Bush. But that was just for that segment. Yes, we do have a nominee.

You don't think they're pushing a certain MINDSET do you? You don't think they're doing every little thing in their power to marginalize PRESIDENT KERRY?

Nah...

2. Actually,no.
They are putting Bush out there so that we will forget that there is a whole REPUBLICAN CABAL.

That insulates Repug Congressmen and Senators in their re-election bids. Bush election is "different" from theirs.:argh:

3. I Don't Mind It This Way
Kentuck...it's bad enough those lines are poorly monitored and Freeper and GOOP operatives sneak through on the "Against Bush" lines all the time and it seems like a lot of Independents still support this whistledick. I don't see any way of avoiding this...no matter what they change, the operatives will know about it and get on and spin. You could create a "Bush Is A Child Molester" line and the operatives would be flooding in on that one.

C-Span did the same thing during the Clinton days...then it was all the Democrats all in outrage against Clenis...and it was all Hillary's fault. LOL.

Right now, I want all of the Right Wing diatribes and crap out there for all to see and hear. Come on, Monkeys, bring it on! The messes this regime has created are so bad now and growing, sometime soon these people will just talk themselves into oblivion. And they'll all be on the "Support Bush" line for us to laugh at.

7. Temporarily...
Look at all the angst the GOOPs still show over Watergate, and we know the scandals going on make Watergate honestly look like a third-rate burglary.

I like the continued denials and attempts at diversion. They're getting less and less serious consideration and now looks like Repugs are the real whiners.

There's no way they can ever escape the responsibility of their present actions. History will show this invasion to be one major deception and those who supported it as "McCarthyites"...and the "bad guys" in this episode of world and American history. This will ruin this party for a generation to come...right now they're just building that funeral pyre higher. The least we can do now (since there isn't much until November) is to help them do it.

Cheers!

5. Why even have "balanced" but non-representative lines?
Are they afraid that if they did it geographically, they'd get 2 democrats for every 1 conservative?

I've read a couple times in the last few weeks progressives argue that Democrats need to get organized in ways including getting the professional callers-in to radio and TV shows.

I think by dividing the lines by parties, CSPAN is consciously helping these people get at least every other call, when the fact is they represent a much smaller % of opinion than 50%.

6. Exactly right, AP
Brian Lamb said as such one day when I was watching.
A repug was complaining that they didn't take as many repug calls as dems calls.
Brian basically told her that she should be happy that they alternate putting callers on the air between the phone lines making it appear that the calls come in on a 50/50 basis.
He said that they get a MUCH GREATER number of calls on the dem line.

8. I remember the weeks before they made this change...
...it seemed like 90% of the callers were pissed off at Republicans about the recount and then the Supreme Court decision.

It's just disgusting to think that they changed their policy because Republican politicians and PR firms probably begged them since it was seriously interfered with a major avenue of delivering their BS propaganda.

Being that the cable companies own CSPAN, they probably didn't even bat an eyelid when asked.
