Bush touts 'torture chamber' end
From correspondents in Washington
May 6, 2004

US President George W Bush has boasted to supporters at a political rally that Saddam Hussein's torture chambers were closed.

Earlier, Bush vowed to punish US abuse of Iraqi prisoners to the Arab media, distancing himself from claims the abuse was equal to Saddam's torture rooms.

"Because we acted, an example of democracy is rising at the very heart of the Middle East. Because we acted, the world is more free and America is more secure," he told cheering supporters at a rally for his re-election.

Taking aim at critics of the US-led removal of the Iraqi dictator and the subsequent occupation of Iraq, Bush proclaimed: "Because our coalition acted, Saddam's torture chambers are closed."

Bush did not mention the global outcry and Muslim anger over the mistreatment of Iraqi prisoners by US soldiers as he energised fellow Republicans at party gala with promises to defeat terrorism and strengthen the US economy.

16. He must have hit the trifecta again
His crowds always laugh and cheer at the sickest things. I hope the world is taking notes. I hate for humanity to get us mixed up.

7. Because, being a Bush Republican, means you can lie about
anything...and everything. It'd be more difficult to find instances when he tells the truth. Lying is a way of life with this character deficient individual.

How is he able to get out of bed in the morning, shower and dress? Can he even feed himself?

He is one freakily stupid idiot. He's a one person idiot wind.

torture, abuse and humiliation as far back as January than this election will be over . . . He is already going to go down as the worst president ever, but he will also go down as the most disgraced president ever as well . . .
