Bush: In your heart you know he's a disaster.
I want a bumpersticker that says this.

I think a lot of people are right there, but can't admit it.

2. When I first read this topic, I thought it said...
...Bush: In your heart you know he's a deserter.:silly:

Funny, but both are true.

We should say "bush" and not "W", right?

I don't want it to be flip.

5. Had kind-of a discussion with someone like that last night.
These people I call "vanitycons" must be in a bind. They depend on their support of the Republican party somewhat for their self-image, but it's a sinking ship with Bush* at the helm. If something got really embarassing (and honestly, if that press conference a few weeks ago couldn't do it then I'm not sure what will), maybe you'd see them all drop off at once and there'd be a sudden 5%-10% drop in his approval and/or re-elect numbers.

6. that is really the best
idea for a bumper sticker i've seen in a long time, it's not in your face and it doesnt insult. You need to go make that.

8. My God--WE JUST FOUND THE KERRY CAMPAIGN THEME
Seriously. We are being lambasted by the press for not having a theme (what the hell is this a presidential election or a Disney park?)and this one is beautiful because it isn't about one issue, it's about the whole ball of wax. It's better than even "miserable failure". I want this theme hung on a banner from the upper deck of a battleship somewhere on the Pacific as the camera pans to the landing plane (opps, that stunt has already been done).

"Go forth and spread the Gospel. If necessary, use words."

I love that.

14. jane - no---but I'd like to use this "in your heart " one as my line
'cause this just has to take wings, it just has to. It's not only all encompassing, it goes right to that funny feeling right below the skin on so many of those who still "support" (you know, all hung up on whether not to would harm the troops, etc.). It's like when you read a terrific short line in a novel that goes to 1,000 hidden truths.

Feel free to use it, but Clever Husband is working up the art work right now, and we'll print them at Cafe Press or something.

I am very touched by how it has resonated with DUers.

Like most inspirations, it just came to me as my mind was kind of blank.

I was driving from our store to the health food store to get some acidophilus for our puppies.

Marketplace was on the radio recounting how the torture story damage is permanent, and how even if the whole administration resigned it wouldn't help us in Iraq.

That slogan just came to me right there in the car.

Thanks, God. (And Marketplace)

(Edited for style.)

17. The 1964 Goldwater theme was
"In your heart, you know he's right"

So LBJ said,

"In your head, you know he's wrong"

Combine that with Daisy commercials, and you have a blowout.

11. Very good!!
This is just excellent. When people get tired of being apologists for this fool, they will have to face the truth - and that will come from their hearts.

Your bumpersticker is a gentle message that is perfect for nudging them. And while some bumperstickers would get my car trashed, this one would probably be OK.

Print them and sell them - I would order some.

18. Jane--honest to god, contact the Kerry campaign site and tell
them what you are doing but 'suggest' that this should be a talking point tag line for Dem talking heads and the Dem party even if John doesn't directly utter it. Hell, tell them it should be the last line of an attack commercial. Contact MoveOn and tell them it would make a great last line of a commercial. This one just has to get "out there".

21. Why don't we do the stealth thing first.
All of us spreading the word and postting the bumpersticker.

By the time the convention comes along, the idea will be planted and the campaign can use it.

If they start it, it will be torn down by the pundits.

I'd rather see a grassroots movement making it known first.

25. The heart word is too religious or something, sorry.
It makes me squirm. I prefer mind too, I want this country to have a mind.
If they are voting with their "heart" well I don't even know what that means.

Kerry: I'm not Bush.

It's never been more clear.

27. GREAT GREAT slogan!
It's very personal but not nasty.

Somehow it reminds me of that moment a couple of months ago when Kerry whispered supposedly off-mike that the Bush people were the biggest bunch of crooked liars he's ever seen. And of course everyone knew he was right.

It's the same with this.

Love it.
