More children being left behind in Texas
Once again, the Texas republicans are setting the standards for the nation. In pretending to balance the budget for the taxpayers they shift the responsibility to other levels with no funding, stiff the taxpayer, ignore children's needs, increase the bureaucracy, burden other agencies with more work and no money, punish the mentally ill , and actually put the public at risk in one swoop.

I am posting this here, as obviously the news is past the 12 hour limit for latest/breaking news. This is my first post, so I'm hoping the link works. My apologies if it does not.

1. Yep Texas
Theyve consistently rated as one of the bottom ten states for education. Those ole republican values.

2. I Thought Bill Maher
stated the No Child Left Behind scandal in TX very well lastnight - They were pushed out, redeployed into a GED blackhole, not drop outs. Says Houston's drop out rate is really 40%, but you wouldn't know it. Cooking the books where ever they go

3. I saw that, too!
Wonderful summation! My oldest child teaches at an "inner-city" school in TX and it's all she can do to go back this year. She cares deeply about the students, but the bureaucracy is getting to be more challenging each year.
