Poll question: Will the Bush campaign run out of money?
Do you think the Bush Campaign will run out of money before their New York Convention?

1. Not possible.
They still have all that Nazi gold stashed away in Zurich.

3. If they ran out why they'd just steal some more
Though I don't think they'll be forced to do that.

6. It's not like they don't have the keys to the treasury
'Course, there are thousands of rich billionaires who'd be happy to pony up a few more insignificant millions for another tax cut.

7. No, they'll send Ollie North and Gordon Liddy to brake...
into Fort Fox. The bushitscos are here to win at any cost. So far treason has not hurt them either.

8. Yes
If he spends his campaign war chest the same way he runs the economy then I think he will quickly squander himself into a deficit. His rich donor base is tapped out ( as they all gave the required $2000 ) and he may have difficulty finding more of them as he has already cast his net far and wide.

I think bankrupt before the convention. The lateness of the convention wont do anything the alleviate their suffering either.

9. One thing going against Bush
Edited on Wed May-05-04 03:20 PM by HFishbine
is that his average total contribution per contributor is $1,308.54. With a limit of $2,000, his base doesn't have much more in allowable contributions. Run out of money? Probably not, but it will get harder to raise.

11. I think they will. And no, I haven't gone crazy.
The Bush campaign is a three-legged stool. It's predicated on three assumptions: that the Democrats won't run a challenger who will fight back; that the war goes well; and that the 9/11 investigators won't look toward the Bush White House. The ideal situation: Richard Gephardt as the challenger, flowers and chocolates in Iraq, and the 9/11 investigators infatuate themselves with the Clenis. (Let's keep BBV out of this discussion. It's not a leg on the stool because all of the BBV vendors are heavy GOP contributors.)

If all three were to hold true, the stool would stand strong and Bush's war chest would be more than sufficient.

Unfortunately for Bush (but fortunately for us), the stool is in the process of collapsing. John Kerry has already shown he'll fight back, and hard. As for the flowers, I think the Iraqis are painting little flowers on the homemade Claymores they're using to take out the soft-sided Hummers our guys are getting killed in...and eventually, someone on the 9/11 Commission is going to think, "exactly who do they think they're kidding?"

To keep the stool from collapsing straight down, they have started a very expensive buy of attack ads, like the one where they dressed the guy up in a steel pot and a green uniform. Like the one where they said John Kerry "voted to raise your taxes 350 times" just before we found out a tax cut smaller than the one the GOP wants is a tax increase. Like all of the internet spam running around about how John Kerry wasn't really a hero in Nam because he only got hurt <<this>> much and a hero gets hurt <<this>>much. (This, of course, coming from an administration consisting of one combat veteran, one peacetime veteran and 600 chickenhawks.)

Bush will run out of money because industrial-strength lying is expensive.
