7. Disney ignores boycotts...

And in some cases, it's a good thing. The Southern Baptists for years now have organized a large, vocal boycott of Disney for sponsoring Gay Days at their theme parks. To Disney's credit, they've resisted this right-wing pressure, even though it certainly has had an economic consequence for them.

So while I don't support what Disney is doing with this film, a boycott of them probably isn't going to be a successful tactic.

9. Tidbit.

Gays are a large proportion of the Disneyland (CA) staff. Once got an inside tour, the most telling insight?...They pump an aroma out of vents on Main Street that precipitates food purchases.

Kind of a microcosm of America.

was based on a fear of loss of revenue. If that is the criteria then a boycott would be the appropriate reaction.

Nothing wrong with the boycott, I just don't think Disney will be influenced by it.

Multiply the Southern Baptists in this country by the number of children they have and figure what Disney's lost in the seven or eight years they've boycotted them in licensed product sales, movie receipts, and park revenue. It's got to be a pretty fair chunk of change.

Still, a boycott is probably all that's left, unless the media floods Disney with condemnation - which ain't gonna happen.
