Leahy and Jeffords slam Bush
A grim sounding Senator Leahy blasted Bush today on Vermont Public Radio. Senator Leahy said, "It's clear the situation is out of control." He elaborated by stating that it is indeed guerilla warfare. Amoung his remarks: "We're going to spend hundreds of billions of dollars and it's not clear what we're going to get."
Senator Jeffords also stated that the situation is one of guerilla warfare, and said we should get out and have the U.N. take over- though he wondered whether they'd be willing to do so.

Both Leahy and Jeffords voted against the Iraq resolution.

2. It must be nice
to live in a state with two such thoughtful, decent Senators. Alas, in Wyoming, I've never had such an experience.

3. It is very nice
to have faith in your congressional delagation. I love all three of mine, and I'm proud of my ex-gov for standing up against the war. Vermont's clear and decent voice rings out repeatedly throughout the country. We're a little bitty state but we've got a lot to say.

8. Yes it is...
...great to live in Vermont. I've tried a number of times when I've found myself in downtown Burlington to see Jeffords and shake his hand for becoming Independant...just like me. Unfortunately he is usually in DC of course. I keep telling his people "Thank You Jim!"

5. Check it out (but only if you're a rural type)
I'm an unabashed cheerleader for Vermont. It's beautiful, great sense of community. In the interests of honesty I have to say that winter is long and hard.

6. I have Vermont envy
and I only live next door! Big difference between VT and NH. ;(

Instead I get the long winter and John Sununu JR, Judd Gregg, and Jeb Bradley. Amazing that two neighboring states can be so far apart on the political spectrum.
