Gergen rips White House on CNN this morning
David Gergen ripped the White House this morning saying a mere apology from Condi is not enough and saying that what the WH has done since the story broke last week amounted to only minor damage control. He said heads must roll and must roll soon with the implication that it was major heads that must roll since they started looking in to the abuse in January...

1. Gergen has been a surprising voice of reason lately
I'm not a big fan of David Gergen, but he *has* seemed to be fairly reasonable of late -- in sharp contrast to those in full lock-step with *.

4. I don't always agree with Mr. Gergen..
... but as Repugs goes he is one I can respect. He does not exhibit the rabid immorality and "my way right or wrong" attitude shared by most of the current administration.

5. David Gurgle
is famous for playing both sides of the field for his own personal edification. He is a loyal Republican, nothing more of consequence. What the American people have to say about prisoner abuse is more important than what an egoistic political hack has to say. Sure heads should roll, David, I don't need you to tell me.

6. When Woodward's latest book came out
Gergen was on Hardball and I was really impressed with his reaction to the revelation that Dubya had never asked Powell or Rummy's opinion on going to war. He was flabbergasted!

I think it was sincere and I also think that he, as a seasoned practitioner of government, was appalled by the incompetence of the bozos currently in charge.

7. They are friggin' stonewalling. It is not damage control
Four star General Richard Myers claimed he did not read the months-old report on prisoners when Myers had his press conference Sunday. How convenient, he can claim ignorance.

Myers is a lying, obfuscating apparatchik. Put his ass on trial.

8. Gergen trying his hand at stand up now?
"Heads must roll", ha ha! Funn-ee. Why would anyone lose his or her job for doing exactly what the boss wants?
