How Stoopid Can One Gang Be

The thing that totally amazes me about the abuses at the Iraqi prison thing is how the Pentagon and the administration didn't realize the incredible bombshell that the report would be. I've said all along that this gang doesn't have a bloody clue about the Mideast culture and history and this proves it.

Think about it - Rummy KNEW there was an ongoing investigation (even cited brief press release about it) but supposedly didn't know there was a report, with freakin' PICTURES. Though they DID know that 60 minutes was doing a report on it because they asked the program to hold it for 2 weeks. So, in that 2 weeks they did NOTHING to forestall the firestorm.

Forget for a second how politically stoopid this was for them - they KNEW it was going to come out and did no pre-emptive damage control - again, nothing. No "getting out in front of it" and slapping down of those who did it, BEFORE it hit the fan. Did they not realize or understand the impact it would have on the Arab world? And worst and most unforgivable of all - did they not realize that it was going TO ENDANGER OUR TROOPS OVER THERE EVEN MORE?

The acts themselves are horrific and damaging enough, but their gross misunderstanding of the fallout is incompetence of the hightest order.

I don't ever, ever, EVER again want to hear how dissent in the states "helps" the terrorists. They not only just created the best recruiting poster for Al Queda that ever was, but they made it WORSE by letting it come out the way it did.

Eileen, that was the most accurate statement i've read about this event.

Boy George and his Neocons really have no clue. And just now, the Shia are begining to threaten the Kurd with force. Except, because Rummy and his brilliant staff refuse to provide the proper numbers of troops to protect them.

Every single step of the way, this group of yahoos has blown it. From the WMD, uranium yellow cake, nukes to be tossed at us in 45 minutes, to the entire post war effort.

I don't see how a bunch of lobotomized morons could have screwed it up worse if they realy tried.

Myers had two weeks to inform himself and DO SOMETHING and yet he ended up on the Sunday Morning talk show circuit pleading ignorance because he HADN'T read the reports.....from February? From December?

They are incredibly inept. For that alone, they should all be replaced. They should be disgraced out of office!

4. consistantly behind the eight ball

i have sat in awe, watching how always they are behind. started losing money in our business, i had it all palnned how to get out of it, pay bank back, where i get money, what husband does for job. had things lined up and ready to go. i always look ahead for whatever to be in peace as it comes. these people, never thinking ahead. then again, that would be a deep thinker. consistantly we see how not being a deep thinker effect decisions in such a poor way
