Postponing the inevitable.
A vote for Nader is a vote for Bush but a vote for Kerry is a vote for what exactly? I will argue that who we vote for will only have an impact on the outcome that is inevitable. That outcome is the destruction of our democratic experiment.

The corporations in America have become far too powerful, so much so they have conscripted the Republicans AND the Democrats into their ranks. Increased privatization of our resources, increased privatization of our government and privatization in general is going to lead to one thing. Corporate ownership of our country and a return to feudalism in a modern world.

The real question here is how much are we willing to let them have before we begin to fight for what is ours? In our lifetimes we will see Social Security, Medicare, the Military, and our schools increasingly sold off to the private sector.

Do you think these corporations will just give it back once they get it?

Not without a fight they won't and I am here to tell you that WE need to prepare ourselves NOW for that fight.

Fuck the status quo
Fuck the quid pro quo

It is the corporations that we need to fight and we need to take the fight to them soon.

2. Consider me a baritone in the choir.
We have a plantation economy now controlled by corporatists (fascists), going global.

3. Good thing Kerry doesn't take corporate pac $$$ and is a longtime advocate
for public financing of campaigns (since 85). In fact, Kerry wrote the Clean Elections legislation with Wellstone. The bill was ignored in Congress but Maine's legislature adopted it for their state.

Kerry as president will use the bully pulpit to push through public financing of campaigns.

5. Excellent
I want to vote for Kerry. I really do but I need to hear him talk to me. So far, with exception of defending his Vietnam record, all I see is milque toast.

I want a Che Guevara style leader. I want to see him call for impeachment of this unelected fraud and for the removal of his henchmen. I want to hear him call this war a fraud and speak out against the 9/11 Commission's lack of real investigation.

I want a real leftist and a real revolutionary.

7. Funny.
I would rather have Bush that some milk sop Democrat. If we are lucky he will fuck up so badly that the Democrats can't provide political cover for him anymore.

If Bush gets voted out of office this fall the cover ups will continue and one day we will have the George Dubya Bush Airport, Shopping Mall, High School etc all over the fucking place.

Now is not the time to be worrying about who you are voting for because they are all on the take.

We need to stand up for ourselves, our families and America and expose these swine (Dems and Republicans) for what they are.

Maybe you don't have the guts to do that. And I suspect that a lot of people supporting the status quo do so because they don't have the intestinal fortitude to fight for real change NOT just changing Presidents.

Do you honestly believe anything will get better with JFK2 in office?

8. In a word, yes. And what exactly does your "standing up" consist of, hm?
Rallying the co-ops, are you? Anonymous vague calls to arms on recycled paper stuck up in the coffeehouses? Bricks through the windows at Starbucks?

--Look, you wanna play revolutionary hero, you go right ahead. Me, I'll stick with the people who understand just how "lucky" a Bush second term will be. Call it "lack of intestinal fortitude" if you like; me, I call it adulthood. Yeah, revolutions happen. Sometimes they have to, when there really is no other resort. We're not there yet, though. And most people don't *relish* the prospect, as you seem to.

9. In a word no...
"All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident."
- Arthur Schopenhauer

My take on this is I have already passed through these three phases of truth about the state of our Democracy. Big business has been colliding with our democracy and our democracy is losing.

Stick with the status quo and the bleeding slows a bit but it doesn't stop.

One of the downsides of communicating on the Internet is the complete lack of real human interaction. Conversing in 1's and 0's leaves no room for one of the most important forms of communication and that is non-verbal cues. This makes it much harder to prove or disprove a particular stance on a subject as you pointed out.

I don't relish the idea of having Bush for another 4 years or any other Republican for that matter but I am sick and tired of watching this slow burn of our country. It doesn't matter if there is a Democrat or a Republican in office it isn't getting better.

How much are you willing to lose before you change your mind? Surely you see the writing on the wall don't you? Privatizing Social Security, Medicare, the Military etc...where do you think that will lead? It just makes it easier for them to steal our money.

Keep in mind the people we are up against don't give a crap if you live or die or if you suffer in-between and the "loyal" opposition to them only opposes them on bended knee.

In the end it is your choice. Stay and be comfy in your "adulthood" or get out and do something real to help America.
