I need some help arguing the case for Kerry re: his wife and the Heinz co.
I was in a brief discussion today with a guy at my work who thinks that Kerry is a total hypocrite, because his wife is involved with a corporation that has the majority of its plants outside of the US, and therefore they must be using "cheap foreign labor". I've been trying to follow all of this stuff but I'm seriously overwhelmed with so much personal crap right now that I just don't have time, and I hate not being able to refute right-wing arguments with solid facts.

Are there any good links to posts here on DU, or other sites, that would help me to understand this situation? I know Kerry might not be the perfect candidate but I really don't see him as being a bad person. So, those in the know, help me out here!

Thanks. :)

1. Teresa just happened to marry
someone who was an heir to some of the Heinz holdings - call it old money, not new.
Heinz was started so long ago - first overseas sales in 1886 - that doesn't even come close to being in the same catagory as the recent wave of corporate "overseas outsourcing" of the past 5 years.
Here is just one link I found by doing a google search

3. This falsehood has been debunked for a while
Here's the Snopes article:

And the statement from H.J. Heinz Company that it cites:

Hope that helps.
