George W Bush is the person that has "politicized" the "war on terror"
Thru all the self-righteous screams from those on the right about Democrats politicizing the war in Iraq, it should be made clear that the one person that has "politicized" the war in Iraq is George W Bush. It was he that lied abou WMDs, nuclear materials, and the overall threat of Saddam Hussein, in order to invade a country that still has not been proven to have been a part of the attack upon our nation and the WTC. There is no excusing such a blunder.

But it was also George W Bush insisted on tying Iraq to the al Qaeda terrorists and even today, most Americans still believe his propaganda campaign that suggested as much. It was George W Bush that insisted on making Iraq a "political" issue, and a false one at that, and the Democrats have a responsibility to point out that fact. Without the lies and distortions, and the ill-advised military invasion, Iraq would never have been politicized and we would still be settlin the affairs in Afghanistan and putting the squeeze on terrorism around the world. However, with the decisions that were made by George W Bush, we now have a larger war on terrorism and more terrorists to fight and less allies to fight them with....

1. This is a funny argument conservatives make
That we have politicized the war, when it's clear they have done far more of it. Almost every argument they make about Iraq leads back to 9/11. Check out this Rush quote from todays show. http://www.rushlimbaugh.com/home/daily/site_050304/content/truth_detector_2.guest.html

"RUSH: All right, so you got these women, and they're torturing -- those pictures showed up 60 Minutes and the best we can determine these pictures were taken by the soldiers that were there. That's what we found out. Now, I'll bet you, there's a possibility, I don't know, but there's a possibility that what's happening here that this is not torture; this is part of interrogation that is to come later. This is humiliation. This is the kind of humiliation and embarrassment that is taken place to soften people up for the interrogation which happens next. This is a war, Tiffany.

CALLER: Oh, my gosh --

RUSH: One of the biggest impediments to winning a war is television and pictures.

CALLER: What if they did that on our soil to our citizens, would it still be considered --

RUSH: Have you heard of 9/11 and the three airplanes that flew into the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and that landed in the field in Pittsburgh?

CALLER: Why do we always have to go back to 9/11?

RUSH: Because that's what this is all about. What do you think this is about?
"

To be fair, we are not 100% clean on this issue either; but we are no where near as culpable as they are.

3. EVERYTHING Bush does is political!
Iraq being the biggie! KKKarl thinks Wars win votes! And When KKKarl thinks GOPers listen! He is Herr Bush's Martin Bormann! Bush almost always does the exact opposite of what he says! The Bushites are the plague the seers of old predicted for the year 2000! The Millennium Calamity happened on 12/12/2000!

4. Projection. n.
"The attribution of one's own attitudes, feelings, or desires to someone or something as a naive or unconscious defense against anxiety or guilt." The Bush campaign's handling of this issue is classic and obvious projection.
