Did Bush/Cheney/Rove send "The Memo" to Russert today to Threaten UN?

It seemed curious to me that Kofi Annan was on with Russert this morning but not on any of the other Sunday Pundit Shows. Russert was in his best Prosecutor mode trying to paint Annan's son as involved in kick backs on "Oil for Food" UN Investigation and at one point asked him if it wasn't Nepotism to have hired his son. Annan didn't hire his son btw, but Russert made it sound like he did. (I wondered why Russert didn't accuse Colin Powell, Dick Cheney and Scott McClellan of Nepotism given their family connections, but that's besides the point)

I'm thinking heavy negotiations must be going on with UN behind the scenes this weekend, so the "people" must be kept ignorant until the "George the Magnificent" announces his deal. But, Russert makes sure that Kofi gets trashed on his show and understands "the Warning." "We can bring you and your son down if you don't cooperate" was the message and the threat. Chimp has got to get the UN in there and a Resolution passed to bring in more troops from a broader coalition than the one that's departing. Where he will get them from I don't know, but maybe arm twisting Germany and France by accusing them of being involved in "Oil for Food" kick backs will do the trick.

The Repugs have been trying to destroy UN since it's founding. Now they have their chance if Annan doesn't cooperate and pull Bush's butt out of the fire. It's all too suspicious that "Oil for Food" suddenly is being investigated right at the moment that Chimp is in deep doo doo.

1. That was exactly my conclusion when I saw the program this
morning. See my summary of the Sunday morning shows:

Watching these shows has become like reading the tea leaves.

2. Great. Even more "Get US Out of the UN" signs will be going up
in the neighborhood. I also saw two bumper stickers with that message today.
