Did you consider what's behind the abused Iraq prisoner pictures??
First I thought they got to the the media because one of these involved GI's sent them to buddies for a laugh. But, then the British press released pictures of their soldiers doing the same in conjunction with our photos released by the media.

Someone wants Bush and Blair removed and/or all of us out of Iraq. If these came from Arab sources they would have first appeared in
Al Jazera (sp?) and Arab newspapers. So where did they come from? Did they come from US or Brit intelligence agencies? Or, US or Brit military--remember we had lots of leaks from inside our Pentagon as we prepared for war that was anti-Bush in nature. Or, are there operatives of our former allied nations whom Bush has insulted and written off actively trying to oust Bush? Or are there operatives of Russia, China, et al that want our hands off the Middle East oil?? Yes pictures say a thousand words---buy these picutes also ask "who got these images into the hands of the media"?? George has enemies. I do wonder who they are and how strong they are.

2. the pictures
were passed on by a soldier at the prison who was upset/appalled by what was going on. He slipped them annonymously to (?) those who had the authority to start an investigation. After the investigation began he came forward. This is all in the New Yorker article which covers the report from the second investigation.

Not sure how the pictures went from the report/investigation to CBS news. The story was about to break in the New Yorker (without the pictures) this week.

9. I think it was a day or two later
and there has been some question about the authenticity of those pictures. Real or not, my guess (given that they show up in a tabloid type paper, I believe) is that someone had the pics and saw the opportunity created by the release of the other pics - and sold them to the paper.

All media except FOX dumping Bush.

4. my opinion: some military personnel are sick of gov't coverups and denials
British soldiers have swapped hundreds of photos showing brutality against Iraqi captives, it has been claimed.
The two soldiers who gave the Daily Mirror pictures of UK troops apparently abusing an Iraqi prisoner have told the paper "this is not a hoax".

7. It's nice to think
I mean we kind of assume the government / military /intelligence is monolithically behind President Bush; it's the natural thing to do. But he probably does have some people who aren't 100% behind him in there.
