Why would the University of Texas contribute $13,000.00 to Tennessee
congressman, Zach Wamp - R?

I heard a rumor about this and so I went to opensecrets.org to check to see if it was there and sure enough this is listed as the top contribution/contributor.

2. I figure there would have to be an "excuse" of sorts to cover any
questions asked by the citizens of TX. I'm curious as to what the "official" reason would be.

3. Well it's T for Texas and it's T for
Zach.

They are probably trying to get the super collider or some other huge pork project going. It's not on account of his good looks, that's for sure.

Tom Hicks = Clear Channel

I looked at his bio, and didn't see any college mentioned ...
at opensecrets.org ... I looked for clues in his personal finances ...

why would The Williams Company pay his way from DC to Tulsa to Chattanooga?

University of Texas Investment Management Co. UTIMCO
is likely corrupt as anything else coming out of Texas

~snip~
Bush's relationship to dubious investment schemes continued during his tenure as Governor of Texas. Bush eliminated disclosure requirements concerning investments of the huge University of Texas endowment fund, essentially eliminating the ability of the general public to monitor where the money was going. Then he "privatized" the investments, turning them over to a nonprofit organization called UTIMCO. The chairman of UTIMCO was a Bush associate who had previously purchased the Texas Rangers baseball team from Bush and his partners at triple its original price. Hicks proceeded to invest at least $450 million of U of T money in private funds managed by his business associates and other major Republican party contributors, earning substantial fees for the managers. A UTIMCO employee who tried to blow the whistle on these conflicts of interest was fired. Hicks' activities eventually created a public outcry, and he left UTIMCO when his term expired in 1999. ~snip~

6. Public universities are not suppose to do this
There strict laws in Texas about corporate campaign contributions and I do not think that a state university can make a campaign contribution. this is weird

8. That's why I'm trying to figure this out....
I've found it VERY helpful to cover all of the bases prior to contacting Wamp's office. When his staffers offer up the first bs response, then the second and so on and each of the bs responses gets shot down the conversations usually end with "we'll have to get back in touch with you".

Just trying to get my ducks in a row before inquiring...
