An email Clever Husband sent to Sinclair Broadcasting
after Common Cause wrote him urging that he e-mail David Smith to insist that Sinclair air Nightline. He changed their stock message to the following:

DON'T Air Nightline tonight! Repugnant and anti-American as your actions are, they may serve the more important goal of awakening citizens of this country to the clear, present and immediate danger of partisan censorship by media conglomerates such as yours.

Keep at it, suckers, and you may single-handedly undo all the
favorable legislation that your industry's millions of dollars of
campaign contributions have purchased.

4. One of the TV (Fox) stations just said....
that Koppel was doing it to get ratings for his failing NBC/CBS(?) channel. He even said that CNN should be doing the honors to the soldiers, because it would be more believable.

What is this media coming to or already is...Nazi for sure.

5. Just curious, isn't censorship
when the government dictates what cannot be aired?

And if a corporation chooses not to air something because of their personal, political, religeous, or business beliefs, how is that then censorship?

10. Censorship is when someone decides what is right or wrong
not neccesarily the government. For example, several years ago, Wal-Mart decided that a line out of a Sheryl Crow song wasn't right for cd's sold in their stores. The line was, "Look at our children, killing themselves with guns they bought from Wal-Mart". Since Wal-Mart is a HUGE seller of recorded music in the USA, they informed her label that they would not sell any of her records which contained that line. There are other instances, particularly with Wal-Mart, but the point is, censorship isn'r always a Government thing.

9. Now Would Sinclair Turn Down A Kerry Buy???
I posted in a thread earlier there are some very disgruntled Sinclair stockholders ready to dump their shares that would hurt the company that lives on borrowed money to pay the high debts they've run up in buying up every competitor in sight. Smith, the fool, thinks all his investors are Fatass Repugnicans like he is...he's about to learn different in the pocketbook. There's how you do it right! Sadly you won't hear about it in the media...no sex, no drugs and involves fuzzy math.

Definitely one priority for a Kerry administration is the overhauling of the FCC...re-establishing it as a regulatory agency, not one that sells broadcast frequencies to the highest bidder and is a wholely owned subsidiary of the NAB.

16. National Association Of Broadcasters...
the major lobbying organization dominated by Cheap Channel that all but controls everything the FCC and the House Telecom Committee does.

At one time it really did good things...but then came Raygun.

15. If you want to email David D Smith (Sinclair Broadcast Group)
David D. Smith, president and chief executive officer of Sinclair Broadcast Group, was arrested this week in his hometown of Baltimore and charged with a misdemeanor sex offense. Sinclair owns WPGH, the Fox affiliate in Pittsburgh, and programs most of WPTT.

19. Love the screen name. I just got back where I saw the "real"
Jane AusTEN's burial place at Winchester cathedral, and her old home in Chawton where basically all her books were completed and published from. It has a small museum which was unfortunately closed. The museum contains a patchwork quilt made by Jane and her sisters containing various treasured items from friends and family that I really, really wanted to see. Next trip.

20. That sounds like a fun trip!
We did a sort of Dickens tour of Kent one year and relived all our favorite novels. It was lots of fun.

Now, what kind of dog is that in your picture?

22. Wow!!!
Email your Media and DEMAND they show MORE war dead!!

Go a little farther and tell them they are cowards, traitors...and worst they are part of the 'left wing media conspiracy'!!!

That'll teach them!! How dare they ignore their TV viewers who WANT to see war dead honored as Heroes and honored citizens!!

It's a great strategy to build up the war talk as a hallowed Experience to be Shared by the Whole Nation...

Demand that Partisanship be set aside in these terrible times as we struggle to bring freedom to all people of the world and let our Heroes be remembered as those that paid the ulitmate price in the 'war on terrorism'

God Bless
