Did anyone else catch Charlie Gibson's piece blaming Clinton for
high school and college cheating last night? Somehow when he got a group of high school students together at the end of the show to talk about why kids cheat, several of them mentioned that Bill Clinton lied/cheated so they got the message that lying/cheating was ok.

As far as I can tell, Bill Clinton NEVER lied about anything relevant to his performance in elected office (unlike some others I can mention) and I believe the fault for setting a bad example for children lies with Ken Starr, Newt Gingrich, and the rest of the GOP.

I can only imagine what one would find in an investigation into the early life of George W. Bush and I would guess that such an investigation with the same amount of publicity given to the Clinton investigation might actually result in the end of ALL morality in this country if Presidential behavior actually does affect the morals of young people.

I have watched a lot of teenagers get into car trouble in the last few years since I have a teenager, and I wonder what the impact of knowing that Laura Bush kiiled someone and got away with it would do if our "liberal" media chose to publicize it.

God, I get tired of pointing out GOP hypocrisy!

10. I think most of us just noticed it lately because he mostly does
fluffy stuff.

I'm guessing that just recently a few million people have started to see what he really is.

20. I wrote to Gibson earlier this week,
he was rude and antagonistic in an interview with John Kerry over Senator Kerry's war medals. While Kerry laid his life on the line in Viet Nam, Gibson was safely tucked away at college. He knows nothing about the sacrifices of our soldiers, nor does he know anything about what they endure in combat.

Gibson is just another chickenshithawk GOP media whore. I will never watch GMA again.

2. That's a bunch of crap
Kids have been cheating on tests, etc. for years, before anyone even heard of Bill Clinton. Those students were just looking for an excuse. Besides, Clinton was punished severely for his mistake. What about that message?

3. AND did you see that the little rat bastard slimy yuppie kid who said
that was one who plagerized his whole goddamn paper when it was revealed. And this little weazle was the one bullshitting the teacher about how cheating is not honorable, etc. Yep, American greedmiester parents are raising some real moral kids, aren't they. Wonder if the boy also sits in the front row of the church with his parents and sings in the choir!!!!

7. I saw that.
And what I realized after watching the show is that apparently MOST kids who get into top colleges are cheaters. And as the show also pointed out, BUSINESS STUDENTS are the worst offenders.

Doesn't our illustrious President have an MBA from a top college???

And we wonder how such a moron...

11. Many business schools no longer require ethics courses
in the core curriculum. When I graduated from my alma mater, their business school discontinued the ethics requirement...that was nine years ago. Could we be witnessing the consequences already?

15. I caught that and I thought the kid's morals were more like Bush's
He did wrong, but takes no responsibility. It was Clinton's fault! A good little lying repug in the making.

9. High School kids would have been between
9 and 14 when Bush took office. I somehow doubt they were paying that much attention to Clinton while he was in office.

Blame their Freeper parents, who probably lie, cheat and steal every chance they get, then tell us that God told them too (like *)

But if GWB starts a nuclear war to bring about Armageddon, there will be no one left to follow his bad example.

19. The Big lie:
"several of them mentioned that Bill Clinton lied/cheated so they got the message that lying/cheating was ok."

The truth is that these kids have been brainwashed by the right-wing into thinking that Clinton's lie about his private life is justification for doing the same thing. The reality is that Clinton was socially ostracized for years and if anyone thinks he wasn't punished for lying, they haven't been paying attention.
