Herman Talmadge III is running for county commission chair as repug
in my county. He announced his candidacy a few days ago, and said, "Like Zell Miller said, 'We did not leave the Democratic Party, the Party left us'." Gee, just what we need a biggot running our county government. His platform is to stop the growth in our county. We live in one of the fastest growing counties in the country, problem is "the wrong type of people are moving in." This according to this group in the county that is opposed to any housing other than very high priced housing. I got a letter from them the other day. Talmadge is their guy. They want the county to fobid building of apartments and affordable houses. They also opposed the school bond referendum (which passed anyway 60% - 40%). No this doesn't pertain to most here, but it's interesting, because it shows yet another political dynasty - a famous GA political dynasty - beginning the next generation.
