U.S. weighs the return of military conscription
War on terror could last 25 years: Lawmaker

Pentagon needs billions more in cash for Iraq

TIM HARPER
WASHINGTON BUREAU

WASHINGTON—A war with no end in sight is draining money and manpower from the Bush administration — and sparking renewed debate about a compulsory military draft in the United States.

-snip-

They cite the disproportionate number of middle- and lower-class Americans among the 700 troops who have so far been killed in Iraq — and the fact, as a Republican senator said yesterday, that the war on terror could go on for a generation.

"Who's doing all the fighting?" Nebraska Republican Chuck Hagel asked on NBC's Today show.

-snip-

"The Pentagon is quietly recruiting new members to fill local draft boards, as the machinery for drafting a new generation of young Americans is being quietly put into place.

-snip-

and there's this:

"Special Skills Draft" in the Offing?

"The government is taking the first steps toward a targeted military draft of Americans with special skills in computers and foreign languages," reported the March 13 San Francisco Chronicle. "The Selective Service System has begun the process of creating the procedures and policies to conduct such a targeted draft in case military officials ask Congress to authorize it and the lawmakers agree to such a request."

According to SSS spokesman Richard Flahavan, targeted conscription "is strictly in the planning stage. We want to gear up and make sure we are capable of providing since that’s the more likely need" than a full-fledged general draft.

-snip-

Everyone 43 years of age and younger, take notice. THe Special Skills draft will allow them to draft work slaves for any occupation the DoD needs--for the entire next generation! The Special Skills Draft, probably starting next June, 2005, will be men and women, no medical deferments, Age 20-44. Thousands of programmers will be drafted first to create the many software systems needed for the Airborne Laser and all the other DoD computer needs.

It all depends on how you have been filling out your IRS form. Translators will go on the first lottery with 20 year-old men and the programmers after Congress reauthorizes in 2005 to maintain the PNAC advance into the Mideast.

John Kerry is anti-PNAC and vows a NO-DRAFT PLAN that raises 40,000 additional troops to relieve the so-far undeployed divisions to fight in Iraq, then withdraws many with NATO coming in. There are many other points to his plan to avoid having to go to a draft.

Kerry has said NO DRAFT recently to 130 college editors and promises a more "sensible foreign policy".

2. Vote for Nader---that's a way of protesting this--and assuring that
the Bush boy will put you, your kid, your relative and/or your neighbor in a nifty GI Joe suit (with matching body bag in case you are clumsy like Max Cleland was--(according to Ann the Man).

4. He's lying. The Busheviks intend this War on Liberty last forever
Well, at least until the reign of the Mad George P. Caligula, after which there will be no one and nothign left of the Old American Republican Republic.

Actually, that IS about 25 years away. Perhaps after it has served it's purpose, the Mad George P. Caligula will summarily declare "victory" (a lie of course but most Imperial Subjects of Amerika are already incapable of telling the difference) and end it.

Maybe. Glad I won't be alive to see it.
