Good news: Kerry leads in WI 49-42-Bowles leads in NC 47-38
MADISON, Wis. - Democrat John Kerry has a slight lead over George Bush in the race for the presidency among Wisconsin voters, according to a poll released Thursday.

The poll, sponsored by Wisconsin Public Radio and the St. Norbert College Survey Center, found 49 percent of respondents supported Kerry, a U.S. senator from Massachusetts.

Forty-two percent of respondents supported the president, a Republican, while 7 percent supported independent Ralph Nader. Two percent were not sure.

Erskine Bowles (D) "currently holds a substantial lead" over Rep. Richard Burr (R) in the general election match-up for the U.S. Senate in North Carolina, according to an internal DSCC poll done by Bennett, Petts and Blumenthal. "Bowles currently captures 47% of the vote, compared to 38% for Burr."

"Bowles runs particularly well in the Raleigh media market and in Eastern North Carolina. Bowles also has a strong lead among seniors. Furthermore, Bowles’s strong showing against Burr occurs even though George W. Bush currently leads John Kerry in the same poll by a margin of 51% to 44%."

4. Holy crap. I was just thinking about Bowles' race. That is weird
it's not like it's a common subject here.

5. that is good news from NC
but a nine-point lead imo is not a "substantial lead".
