At this stage of the game it is pretty Black and White
There are only two people with any chance at all of winning the presidency. Bush* and Kerry. You are either for Bush* or you are for Kerry. There is no real alternative. Those who are bashing Kerry or saying that they are considering not voting for him are our enemy, make no bones about it. It is either, you are with us or against us, at this stage of developement. I'm sick of these posts saying how badly Kerry is doing. He is not going to please everyone all the time but he is who we have. It is him or Bush* and if you ain't voting for Kerry then you are either voting for Bush* or allowing Bush* to win by not voting. So I say quit your damn whining and start thinking positive or get the hell out of here.

1. You sound like bush

I'll think for myself rather you like it or not.

Heck I haven't said much about Kerry at all but
don't tell me what to say and think.

7. It's the conformist group think that makes the right so bad

If more of those who identify with the republican party actually
spent time researching and thinking for themselves bushco would
have been reigned in by now.

Instead they buy into the "with us or against us" line and never
bother to look at the facts on the ground.

This type of behaviour is very bad for democracy and it would
be a big mistake to engage in it.

20. We had our democratic moment...
...remember the primaries? We all voted for the candidate of our choice and then we would support the winner against *. Fight the real enemy! There are a few people of your thought lurking on this board. It is becoming clearer that your political philosophy is a convenient blind because really you just like to argue. Or should "lurking" be taken in a more sinister context? There are plenty of other boards full of people who like to argue.

21. Your post makes no sense, can you explain
Edited on Thu Apr-29-04 11:41 AM by el_gato
Are you saying that we should not ever question those who want
to be in leadership positions?

Are you being serious?

Just like to argue? What are you talking about?
I hardly ever post anything about Kerry and I would rather see
him in office than bush, but that does not mean he is above
questioning.

26. No el gato...
... I am saying lets get the worst president ever out of office and John Kerry is our tool to do that.

Imagine if * wins. I can tell my kids everything I did to save the country and you can tell your kids that you pouted because Kerry wasn't perfect for you.

12. Nobody can tell me what to think
and nobody does, but I agree with the original post, it is pretty simple at this point in time. United we stand or divided we fall, sometimes it is just black and white. I could have done without the reference to "your are either with us or against us" but the fact of the matter remains the same. * the asshole is simply intolerable to you any longer or "your private principle" is more important. A vote for any other candidate other than Kerry translates into a vote for the *. No one can tell you how to vote, but it is certainly legitimate to point out the consequences of a variety of votes. So your either sick and tired and will go to any lengths to give change a chance or you are willing to let the * have another four years simply to make a statement. If the 3rd party was a viable concept then it would be a different story. IMHO there are too many lives at stake and those who think that the Dems and the repukes are just the same think outside the box for a minute. Kerry will at least have a tremendous amount of world leader support to lessen the tension worldwide. Our resident is probable the most hated and feared man in the world this is not a good thing for American National Security or Foreign policy.

9. Bullshit!
Just because some of us recognize that Kerry CANNOT beat Bush doesn't mean that we'll be voting for Bush in November. It means that we're hoping the Party won't be stupid enough to run Kerry and will find an alternative that can BEAT BUSH.

But how are YOU and Kerry going to feel on November 3rd when he gets beat?

Edwards could beat Bush. Kerry can't.

so I don't agree with you Anjisan.
But that still doesn't mean we have to engage in groveling to those
who are supposed to represent us.

I'm VERY confident that Edwards could beat Bush and I'm somewhat confident that Dean or Clinton could.

10. Those who aren't that excited by Kerry
can get involved in local campaigns. We need to take back the Senate and the House. So I encourage everyone on this forum to pick one Democratic candidate to support in 2004, and to vote for Kerry for President.

11. Wit' us or against us, eh
Not very democratic of you friend. Each and every one of us has the RIGHT granted to us by the CONSTITUTION that we can cast our vote for WHOEVER we wish. If you don't like that concept, perhaps you should find another country to reside in, perhaps one in which there is only a single party to vote for would be more to your tastes.

This bully boy tactic of yours is ineffective at best, and counterproductive at worst. If you are wishing to influence people, why don't you try that tried and true method of compromise. But that tactic seems to be out of fashion these days, abandoned for bully boy tactics, binary thinking, and fearmongering. Yipee:eyes:

With all due respect, I humbly request your permission to criticize High Royal Highness Kerry, if I may do so, with your blessing of course.

I'll PM you in advance to have you vet the proposed criticisms to make certain that they are acceptable to you as hall monitor.

Many thanks for taking on this role.

18. Go blow it out your ear!
You're the one promoting authoritarian control here, Bandit.

Many of us are planning to vote for Kerry, but the last thing we want is someone standing over us screaming about how we "have" to do so. It's the antithesis of democratic process, and will only alienate more people than you will ever convince.

But then again, maybe persuasion isn't the point of your mindless rantings here. Maybe it's just something that enables you to "score points" in the eyes of others, or to help accentuate your sense of smug superiority and all-knowingness over others.

19. BTW -- your choice is not accurate
What we have to choose between is full-blown fascism, or fascism-lite. Personally, I'll choose fascism-lite every time, but that doesn't mean I much care for it. However, I do recognize that in order to move from fascism (absent a revolution), you have to first go to fascism-lite, and progress from there.

However, just because I don't much care for piss doesn't mean that I'm a big fan of shit.
