I work with active and retired military and they want this Iraq mess over with NOW. They definitely think that the Iraqis have no interest in fighting for a western style democracy. They are looking at this like another Viet Nam, an open ended war with no feasible goal. One co-worker told me that as he made his donation to the Bush campaign, he wrote in Red ink, GET OUT OF IRAQ now. Funny, he still won't vote for Kerry. When I asked him why, he just looked at me like I had lost my mind. After asking him again, he said, "I have a job, why the hell should I vote for a Democrat?" I wasn't in the mood for a pissing contest, so I let it pass.

2. My guess

is that Bu$h will start doing big drawdowns in July when it will give him the most political mileage.

Until then, these kids are stuck there for better or for worse.
