Tears at the heart. Rips it to shreds. Imagine, just imagine yourself in this place.
Now,
Imagine you are an Iraqi living in Fallujah.
Your little suburb of Baghdad survived the initial onslaught (war, whatever) relatively unscathed this time (not like '91). Most everyone is glad to see Saddam gone. The statue is down, Saddam is gone, Baghdad is "liberated".
Life in Fallujah is okay, you've opened up the school, all is good.
And then the Marines rolled into town and decided to set up camp at the school in order to maintain "law and order" in your town.
Parents, town leaders, kids, everyone is unhappy with this so they march upon our Marines, demanding they remove themselves from the school. Next we have a disaster. Conflicting stories, bottom line, 15-18 civilians dead, 50+ wounded.
Put yourself in that town square, that day and then come forward.
Read all about Fallujah and everything that has taken place in that suburb of Baghdad since that day. Then put yourself there, if it was me, I would be an insurgent.
Sorry.
I'd just love to see us all start to care as much about what we are doing to the people of Iraq, as we are doing to our countrymen being "sent to serve" for democracy and freedom.
Oh yeah, I forgot the part about the "War on Terrorism". Whoops. That's a big one. No more "Cold War", no more "communists", now we have TERRORISTS! WORLD WIDE! B#$# S#$#. (on edit, no bad words)
