Tell me everything is gonna be O.K......please
tell me some reasons why i should just relax and take a deep breath and let time take it's course. tell me to just wait till november when we'll vote the bums out. tell me we aren't going to be attacked again, only this time it'll make 9-11 look like a picnic. tell me the neocons will all come to their senses and pull out of iraq. tell me the right wingers will soften their jingoism. tell me there will be no draft. tell me the economy is stable. tell me the mission's accomplished. tell me lies to make me feel better.
tell me to stop making panicky posts and sounding alarms. tell me to just calm down and relax. tell me this is not the time to get all hysterical and vaporish. tell me to grow a spine and quit whining and do something. tell me to take a break, turn off the t.v., be patient, show some decorum, don't embarass myself and others, and shut up about it already. excuse me if i freak out at the end of our great experiment. the death of america is sad, as is the death of any loved one.

4. We are with you - together we will prevail
Bad things may happen. Some may die but not all. We will win if not this election the next. They cannot stamp us all out if we are strong.

5. You are saying the same things most of us here at Du feel, but don't think
you are whining. You are not whining. It is a day by day situation and the most we can do is hope for the best. I have been down and up several times a day. It is a matter of good overcoming evil. That is a stark way to put it but I feel that is what it will eventually come down to. Basically I am an optimist but fear does creep in. I think that is okay because it is a human trait. Let us never apologize for how we feel.

6. I'm With You
mopaul...

No, I will not tell you to calm down because I feel exactly like you.

I was listening to talk radio the other day and a caller tried to convince the host that we cannot wait...that Bush must be impeached NOW! The host said that it was best to wait until the election. I agreed with the caller.

WHY THE AMERICAN PEOPLE DO NOT RISE UP AND RIP THIS IDIOT OUT OF THE OVAL OFFICE IS BEYOND ME!

I am so pissed that I can hardly think about anything else. My country is vanishing before my eyes and the American people are just standing by and letting it happen. Amazing....simply amazing.

7. Yo, Mopaul...
I can't tell you any of that, brother. wish I could. What I CAN tell you is that this is the hand we've been dealt. This is where all of us are, together. There are forces in motion that have their origins in our entire collective history. Causality, Mopaul, and here we are, lucky us. There is nothing any of us can do about "it" individually.

Here's the reassuring bit....we're all in this clusterfuck together, and all of our individual efforts DO somehow, someway, collectively impact how shit goes down. I don't play bridge, but I understand that good teammates with shitty hands can win by skill, guile, and sheer fucking balls.

I've wondered about your head Mopaul. About what impact this righteous rage is having on you. I know for sure that I've been fucked up and consumed by these events. That I don't sleep well as I used to. I'm prone to abject depression when I wasn't before. And this is someone who tries to keep his rage in check instead of expressing it, as you do. I dunno, maybe your ragings are a healthy release, and I should riot more often.

I don't know if it helps you, but to me, you're a fucking inspiration. You express the anger and indignation and fury that we all feel, but often feel to helpless to shout.

You fire us up. Remind us how dead fucking serious this deal is. Sorry, I shouldn't speak for anyone else. change "us" to me.

I need someone like you to keep me stoked. To give me a sense of perspective and place.

Just don't let it eat you up. I know it can do that. All of us I think have given something of ourselves. This shit hurts.

Take care of yourself, when it gets too much, remember to laugh. Remember what a surreal tragi-comedy it is you find yourself living in. That we should be witness to such possible futures, you just gotta shake your head and chuckle. Remember we are fighting for the ability to laugh. If we lose that, then we've nothing to fight for.

I'm rambling. Keep the faith Mopaul. Don't lose the edge. Be the edge. We need you.

Shutting up now.

9. FWIW Mopaul I agree with CaptainClark23.
Many, many of us go through stages of abject despair because of our ability to see the big picture. I am always grateful to you for your thoughtful posts and right-on art work. I am sure there are hundreds here that like me, need your insight but don't post much about it. Hang in there. You are NOT alone. Good people all around the world feel as you do and we are working towards a common goal. To make America better than it is now. I honestly believe that we will win this most important election, IF we don't quit. Keep posting Brother and I will keep agreeing.

Woof

10. Sorry Mopaul, it's NOT going to get better (for now), it's not

going to stop. I can't lie to you. What it is going to do, is get worse, before it gets better. The Rethuglians and the neocons will see to that. We can take that to the bank.

It's the PNAC plan. They want to foment as much anguish and hate, and dissension, as they can, in an effort to smother the country in negativity, to the point where most folks will either simply want to pull a blanket over their heads until "after" November, or start a civil war.

How many more scandals and ugly political fighting can this nation handle, before many would almost welcome a dictatorship? That's what PNAC and the neocons want to find out. That is the battle.

If this country had any gumption, we would storm the offices of the major news media corporations, and demand truth on the public airwaves. We would then storm the gates of White House, and Congress, and demand the arrest and prosecution, for treason, of the entire Bush administration, for high-crimes against the nation (like lying to the congress, and the nation, about Iraq).

But we don't have gumption, and the world knows it. And so do the multiplying (thanks to Bush) hordes of terrorists lining up to harm the U.S., and its interests. They know how shallow and dishonest so many Americans are (at least the 43% or so that support the Bush regime), and they blame the rest for not standing up and taking action.

OK, November is not far off. Chest out, resolve strengthened, we have a war to fight, ....right here. Become overwhelmed, and THEY win. Personally, I was never very good at grabbing my ankles, and, thankfully, I never acquired a taste for shit.
