2. Kerry medal controversy
Edited on Tue Apr-27-04 04:02 AM by MSM
I honestly didn't know how to answer the question as it can be interpreted in two ways. Do I think his Vietnam War medals are a valid campaign issue? Yes, as it points to his bravery and leadership under fire.

Do I think the controversy surrounding Kerry's Vietnam War medals are a valid campaign issue? No, since the controversy surrounding Kerry's anti-Vietnam war stance subsequent to his service is an obvious ploy by the Republicans to draw attention away from his exemplary service to an issue that 30+ years later is still quite divisive in our society.

I suspect that many answering "No" may have interpreted the question in either way making the results meaningless.

7. I agree. It's a poorly-worded question.
Edited on Tue Apr-27-04 07:22 AM by Buns_of_Fire
What with the current brouhaha over him throwing them "over the wall" when he returned from Vietnam, I chose "no", based on the context of the moment -- his act of protest 30+ years ago is NOT a valid campaign issue.

Do boosh* and cheney REALLY want to go into what each candidate was doing 30+ years ago? Really? You want to go there guys? Fine. Bring it on.

On edit: BTW, welcome to DU, MSM! :toast:

10. The "question" cuts both ways.. Didn't bother to even vote..
Relevant..

yes.... could mean that the "tossing away" of them proves that * is more patriotic, since he did not throw any away..

No......could mean that the fact that Kerry HAS/EARNED them is meaningless because * is such a patrioticwartimepresident, that medals earned 35 years ago are meaningless..

11. I find it bizarre
that American citizens would TOLERATE such an attack on someone who volunteered and served in a combat zone on behalf of *dimwit dangerman dress-up doll. Some core values have been corrupted and distorted.

13. Evidently CNN has changed the question.
I just cam efrom the CNN site and the topic up for vote is "Should Vice President Cheney's private records on a national energy task force be made public?"

I voted "yes" in lieu of "damn right" which was not available.
