1. Paul is a hard-liner.
Has no use for PNAC, either.

2. Paul has been kicking neocon ass lately
hell I voted for him when he ran for prez a while back!

He has a piece called "Neo-conned" that I highly recommend:

http://www.thelibertycommittee.org/neo-conned.htm

snip:

The modern-day, limited-government movement has been co-opted. The conservatives have failed in their effort to shrink the size of government. There has not been, nor will there soon be, a conservative revolution in Washington. Political party control of the federal government has changed, but the inexorable growth in the size and scope of government has continued unabated. The liberal arguments for limited government in personal affairs and foreign military adventurism were never seriously considered as part of this revolution.

4. He's a Libertarian. He was even their Presidential candidate one year.
He runs as a Republican to get elected.

5. Duh me...you're right, of course.
Good on him for speaking up, even though I totally disagree with him on a lot of issues. At least he hasn't been drinking the koolaid. That much I can respect.

7. Oh, I certainly agree with him on certain issues.
But some people like to say, "LOOK!!! A Republican speaking out against Bush!!!!" But Ron's not your everyday Republican. :-)

6. He's my Congressman.
He spoke out against the midnight voting to cut VA benies last year right after the war started. But he lost me on IDEA (I have a child with a disability). I never could could figure out where he really was on it except that he doesn't like public schools, so he must have been dancing around it. He also has some really weird ideas about things (Libertarian ideas).
