Did George Bernard Shaw know Bush?
or was he being prescient:

BRITTANICUS ( shocked): - Caesar, this is not proper!

THEODOTUS (outraged): - How?

CAESAR (recovering his self-possession): - Pardon him, Theodotus: he is a barbarian, and thinks that the customs of his tribe and island are the laws of nature.

Caesar and Cleopatra, Act II
George Bernard Shaw

1. Bush -- English language
In "My Fair Lady," the GBS musical version of Pygmalion, Shaw had to have anticipated Bush when he wrote, "There even are places where English completely disappears. In America, they haven't spoken it in years." How in the world did Dubya get through Yale without being able to get out a coherent English sentence. Don't tell me there's no affirmative action at work here.

2. Amusing line. However
I suspect it comes from the musical's lyricist, not from Shaw's Pygmalion.

3. Don't know
Lerner and Loewe incorporated as much of GBS as possible into their songs, but I don't know whether that line was their's or Shaw's. Nonetheless, the drift of the idea was pure GBS. Either way, I'm still waiting for Dubya to get out a coherent sentence in English.
