Do you want to stick it to CNN ? Do this all 43 thousand of us
Edited on Thu Apr-22-04 03:30 PM by LibertyorDeath
If all 43 thousand members of the DU sent similar email to CNN they would back of on their bush ass licking. IMO

I have tuned in to CNN for the past decade, but NO More.
Your bias toward Republican views is reaching an intolerable level. I will encourage all my friends, relatives and co-workers to Stop watching CNN and find more balanced News sources.

Sincerely

Take 1 minute and do it....

I am very disappointed in the quality of news reporting coming from CNN. We should be hearing about major corporations moving their operations out of Iraq and having a dialogue on what their role was and what will happen when they pull out. What will the consequences be? We should be hearing Dick Cheney respond to a demand to see his records on the energy task force. We should hear someone questioning Tenet on the so-called "misspeak" he made when he claimed not to have seen Bush in August, 2001, when in fact, he had flown to Crawford twice.

I find myself watching CNN less and less and instead listen to Air America which seems to be the only station in this country bringing us the truth.

Sincerely

... about the nipple thing, that is... Yes, I agree with you, wholeheartedly. We should have heard about these corporations moving into Iraq, and every American should have been able to see through the lies and deceit that the real basis for going there was to benefit corporations and, of course, friends. Now it is history, and if we're lucky that history will be written and taught to our children. But, there I go, day dreaming again.

I will not watch another minute of CNN until you discontinue your bias towards Republicans. If I wanted the GOP slant you present day after day, I would watch FOX. I am disappointed that the network I have depended on for years to supply me with factual news and investigative reporting has become a Republican mouthpiece. Has CNN forgotten that atleast 1/2 of the country is not Republican? We don't want you to appear biased towards Republicans or Democrats. We want the news - straight and factual, not 24/7 opinions. Try hiring some journalist instead of entertainers.

Errors on CNN? What, like not reporting any of the arguments against the war in Iraq BEFORE it started so people could voice a more informed opinion to their representatives? How about the way you all continually cover for every miserable failure of the Bush administration? How about getting Wolf Blitzer to stop giving Bush such gratuitous flattery?

Get the picture? CNN is supposed to be the leader in 24 hours news, at least we know what Fox is you all should stop trying to be a part of the right wing machine and report on the TRUTH.

By the way-check the NYT bestsellers list to see how big the market for anything even slightly anti-Bush is.

i'm done with your station. i can no longer stomach the blatant bias you unerringly show towards george bush and against john kerry. you should be ashamed of yourselves. and to top it off, on saturdays and sundays you repeat these totally boring canned shows, e.g. People in the News. This is journalistically irresponsible while we are in the middle of a war that is going terribly wrong and in the middle of an election year. i should thank you - it is because of your horrible presentations in "news" and other "shows" i have rediscovered the national geographic and discovery channels. you might want to rethink you approach and think how history will remember you....

Done. Thanks, LOD, for the kick and the template. What I wrote:
I have relied upon CNN for unbiased news reporting for more than two decades, but no longer.

I feel that your bias toward Republican points of view (read: right wing) has reached an intolerable level. The current radical Republican administration has taken this country down a path that has compromised our individual freedoms, killed thousands of innocent people needlessly (including more than 700 of our own service men and women), and made us the object of contempt in most regions of the world. Certain major media outlets have enabled this corrosive and criminal activity -- certainly, Fox News, which delivers right-wing propaganda daily, and now CNN, which has given every possible pass to one of the most destructive and divisive administrations in our history.

I will implore my family, friends and colleagues to boycott CNN, and to seek out more unbiased news sources.

Sincerely,
:kick:

42. Done... my email
I've been stewing all day long about Jeff Greenfield's "expert political analysis" segment on today's installment of "American Morning." After listening to Jeff, the only conclusion I can draw is that resistance to the Bush Administration is futile.

It should be titled "America Mourning," because I'm American, and I mourn the death of real, no-bias news reporting.

CNN should be ashamed of its painfully obvious pro-Bush reporting. It's even more shaming that I find myself forced to tune into CNN-International in the evenings and weekends (thanks for that schedule, CNN-Financial!) in order to get an unbiased take on what is really happening in the world.

While I'm at it, why does CNN continue to employ Candy Crowley and Judy Woodruff? Their pro-Bush bias is literally painful to watch.

Back to the BBC and CNN-International for me,
Jennifer ;-)

It's fun to vent about Crowley.

Sadly, I don't think CNN cares about ratings or about their viewers. They only care about the bottom line at AOL/TW, so I'm sure we'll continue to see the pro-Bush corporatist line even if not a single viewer is left.

and here is what I wrote. "I am writing about what I perceive to be a biased and less than balance approach to your coverage of political stories and personalities. I think you need to be more even-handed on covering what the candidates are doing and saying. It is not, in my opinion, your role to evaluate the candidates but to report fairly and objectively what they are saying, proposing, and doing. I think those that provide evaluative commentary should be adequately identified in terms of their affiliations outside of the network, e.g., William Schneider and his resident fellow status at the American Enterprise Institute in Washington, D.C., fellowship status. This Institute represents a very distinct conservative view that frankly needs to be made known to the viewers. In the same vein, I would think for the sake of balance other commentators from other points of view should be part of the opinion presentations offered by Schneider. I would hate to see a repeat of the talk radio mantra that previously referred to you as the Clinton News Network and become the Conservative News Network. Fair, balanced, accurate, objective, and honest is what I expect from a service such as yours.

70. I have a reservation about this.
If you looked systematically (FAIR's study of the coverage before the war is an example), or even just took isolated examples, you could find some interesting stuff, but if you write them, you'll really have to be specific to be taken seriously. Provide an example of how something was spun or omitted and they'll know what you're talking about. I saw something in college about how everyone thinks the media is biased against their viewpoint regardless of where they stand - I'm pretty sure they know this phenomenon. Banging them with sheer volume of accusations is a conservative tactic.

76. Conservative tactics actually yield *results,* LoZoccolo.
Too much is at stake for us to be taking the "moral high ground" on this important issue.

Red-state tactics WORK. It's pathetic, but I'm resigned to believing it. Sure, it's much better if you can respond with some actual, specific examples, but don't be fooled into silence and high-ground crap. It didn't work for Gore or Dukakis, and it's not going to work this time, either.

My continuing mantra this election season: You can't wrap fire in paper.

90. Think about what I was saying a bit more.
I don't think the high-ground takes away from effectiveness at all. To me it's about being taken seriously, and I don't think that making a quality case - even just a good anecdotal case - carries any risk of diminishing the volume of the campaign. I imagine it would have more of an impact in their perception of their own accountability to their viewers if they know they're dealing with viewers who are really watching them. We've actually got an advantage lately in this area, as credibility is, I feel, the main issue of this election season, and one we have to preserve if we want to have an advantage.

And I would argue that the conservative tactics don't always yield results - look at how Clinton's approval rating went up when they tried to use dirty tricks.

... conventional wisdom out with the bathwater.

I never would have thought the day would come, but it has arrived, announcing itself with a boot up our collective asses. I agree wholeheartedly with your sentiment, and didn't intend to come off as snarky in any way.

We, unfortunately, have NO ADVANTAGE, lately, or presently. Take a look at the way Bush's poll numbers are trending. This, in light of the bloodiest month in the war so far, the 9/11 hearings, Clarke's book, Woodward's book, the disastrous Presidential "Press" Conference. Still, Bush gains, and his trend is UP. Time to put the war helmets on and start marching. It IS war, and we're smart enough to know how to win this game by now.

86. Hi LoZoccolo I understand what you're saying and this would hold true

For say the BBC or CBC Canada or any News outlet that practices Journalistic integrity & holds itself to high standards.

Christian Amanpour would be an example of this but where the hell is she ?

Why doesn't CNN give one of their few real Journalists(Christian Amanpour ) her own show?

CNN has the thinest manufactured veneer of integrity and what hides behind it is pure unadulterated propaganda dressed up as news.

Trust me they answer to the White house and then the bottom line in that order.

They are an experiment in progress on shaping thought in America and Joseph Goebbels would be proud.

I stopped watching CNN about a year ago because of the utter failure of your organization to report news accurately, fairly and fully. The conservative bias of many of your major newspeople is so palpable as to be disgusting. I'm not asking for liberal bias; all I want is decent journalism, and I haven't seen that on CNN in many years. So, just getting around to writing to let you know: I don't watch you, I don't watch your advertisers.

Dear Sirs,

If I wanted "fair and balanced" opinions instead of news, I would watch FOX. It is disheartening to witness CNN spokesmodels prop up and glorify the Cheney/Bush administration, and, in the rare event CNN is forced to report on an event that does not reflect well on the "adults in charge," a right wing apologist is invariably given the last word to comment on the issue in order to soothe the public back into its apathetic cocoon.

It is quite transparent that CNN is desperately seeking the FOX Bushbot Drone audience; so much so that it has become an insult to the intelligence of those of us who used to turn to CNN for actual journalism.

I regret to say that until CNN regains its integrity and starts treating this unelected misadministration with the concern and diligence it deserves, actually DEMANDS, I will be getting my information elsewhere, like in print or on the net or from The Daily Show. (yes, The Daily Show; even satire hits closer to the truth than CNN these days.)

I am writing because I'm mad as hell and am not going to take it anymore, especially in an election year. God forbid Americans allow the media to define and choose our president this year like they did in 2000, because we can now see that the only thing served by this is YOUR bottom line.

If I was interested in hearing vapid personalities talking about their opinions, I'd get my fill on fox "news". I used to think that CNN had more integrity, but lately I'm not so sure.

The corporate and rightward listing of CNN has been becoming more and more pronounced over time. From the paucity of reporting of the scandals of this administration in comparison with the bloodhound like attention given to the merest hint of scandal in the previous administration, to the presentation of opinions of members of right-wing think tanks as if they were fact, this bias has become practically insulting to those of us looking for unvarnished facts and objective journalism.

There may not be an alternative to this on the other cable "news" networks, but thank god for the Internet, where I, and others like me, can get reliable information from the foreign press.

Until such time that you return to the pursuit of actual journalism, instead of stenography for the white house and your corporate masters, I will not be watching your networks.

The beauty of it is that both your approaches are being taken up by people, in a two-pronged campaign. Having a diversity of letters like we all see in this thread is WUNNNNNNNNNNderful! First, it shows these are letters from real, individual human beings, and not astroturf cranked out via some predictable political machinery or astroturf. It's great that some of them mention specifics AND others don't. VOLUME DOES GET NOTICED. If they see a lot of these, somebody's gonna take notice. And all these different versions! It's GREAT! Even so, there are sufficient repeat references to such offenders as Wolf Blitzer and Candy Crowley that THOSE can't be easily dismissed, either. Also good to see Judy Woodruff and William Schneider singled out, as well. That shows 'em we're paying attention. It ALL helps. Every one of these. This is how you achieve critical mass and provoke positive change.

The important thing here is - this is not some isolated malcontent. This is a LARGE number of people. And, as it was when I was on the air, even just one letter or phone call is presumed to represent many more (depending on the size of the market). Here, though, the market is at least the US, if not other parts of the world. In this case, we have people writing in or complaining from ALL corners of the country, in many different ways about the same basic wrong-doing. The details help. The generalities help. It all helps. BELIEVE me.

I called yesterday to the comment line, and also sent an email. Usually I like to do both. Think I'll do it again today, and tomorrow.

This is all good, folks. These people need to hear an outcry - preferably a loud, multi-voiced, and sustained one. IF THEY THINK WE DON'T CARE, THEY WON'T, EITHER. At least now, they know a bunch of people care. More than 100 of them, just judging from this thread alone.

KEEP IT UP GUYS! We ALL need to be squeaky wheels! GREAT JOB!!!

I have been watching CNN since the inception of your network. I cannot in good conscience continue to do this, however.
Over the past three years, I've seen my (formerly) favorite news source become a national sounding board for right-wing extremism. Please continue to protect your corporate interests, but I will no longer support your "news" channel, nor it's parent company. Thank God for BBC News. They're more interested in relaying actual non-biased news, and less interested in editorializing and "spin" that caters to the lowest common denominators of society. At least Fox News doesn't try to obscure their agenda. That makes them better than you, if only barely.

114. Done. I hope they read this

I don't know where to start with all the "errors" I observe. I guess I would have to say that anything and everything CNN reports in regards to the Bush administration is in error.

I expect FOX news and all the other right-wing "news" outlets to paint a pretty picture of the Bush administration. That is what they do,and it is no secret. What I did not expect is the drastic move to the right that has brought CNN to nearly equal partisanship with the right-wing pravda.

The fact of the matter is,George Bush and his gang of criminals have committed crime after crime and told lie after lie.Impeachable offenses. Through all this,CNN has been there to act as an apologist for these criminals. Why?! Is it money? If that is all it took for your organazation and it's people to sell your souls,I have less respect for you that I would for a common streetwalker.

For God's sake,If an average citizen like me can clearly see the documented evidence of the Bush administrations crimes, surely an outfit with the resources of CNN must know what is going on!

I am not asking CNN to be an outlet for liberal only slant, just to simply report the truth and nothing more.

Do your jobs for God's sake!

Sincerely,

Dear CNN,

I am writing this message to inform you that you have lost me as a viewer. I no longer believe that you are "the most trusted news network." I believe, instead, that you have compromised journalistic integrity and present a false, biased, and slanted view of the news.

I have great admiration for journalists such as Christiane Amanpour (sp.?) and I am a long-time fan of Aaron Brown. I used to watch Larry King faithfully. But despite these few shining stars on your network, I cannot abide the rest of what you call "news." CNN has become the equivalent of Fox News with a pretense of journalistic integrity. Your network is basically surviving on its past stellar reputation. Once the rest of the public becomes aware of your bias towards corporate interests and the Bush administration, I am sure your ratings will suffer even more.

You can't out-fox Fox news. They already have the Bush-admiring viewership sewn up. How about simply reporting the facts? The piece Wolf Blitzer did regarding Sen. Kerry's military service was simply SHAMEFUL! You cut away from Kerry's speech to introduce a guest (who had nothing but disparaging comments to make about Kerry's military conduct) who NEVER EVEN SERVED WITH THE MAN!

How ridiculous is that?

Why don't you report on the quagmire in Iraq? Why don't you keep a ticker at the bottom of the screen on the number of American and Iraqi casualties sustained as a result of this war? What about the private contractors making a fortune in Iraq? Who owns these companies? What political affiliations to these private contractors have? How did they get their jobs?

Why don't you inform America about the legalities of Bush funneling $700 million Congress intended for Afghanistan into planning for war with Iraq?

Why do you advertise and do business with Saudia Arabian financial supporters of terrorism?

SHAME ON YOU CNN! I am turning you off and getting my news from the BBC and CBC (who strangely are a better source of news pertaining to America than our own supposed news networks).

I hope you return to the honest, unbiased news network that I trusted and loved.

Sincerely,

Tatiana

119. Here are my words to CNN
Conservative Network News

I used to be a regular viewer of CNN and once looked at it as an objective source of news. That unfortunately ended with the selection of GW Bush. Since his ascension to the White House I have noticed an increasingly conservative and pro administration bias at CNN.
There was PRECIOUS little objectivity or questioning of the administration during the march to war. Going to war is precisely the time when OBJECTIVE journalists are needed. We need journalists who will not act as yes people for a corrupt administration.
Thank you for reading my letter,

My comment

From you commentators, to who you have as guests on your panels, the stories you run and especially the stories you ignore, it is apparent that your station panders to the rightwing. I am tired of your attempt to imitate Fox News and will no longer watch your cable outlet or use your webpage as a news source

132. my note to cnn
ok, they have me pissed, and this may be a little over the top, but i want them to know where i stand.....

---------

when cnn first came into existence it was a great step forward in news reporting. it was the standard to meet.

unfortunately in the last few years cnn has become, for want of a better word, a shill for an administration that is dragging this country down economcially, morally, militarily and philosophically.

and why? so you can have access to a president that manipulates you, convincing you to pander to the vocal right, while purposely keeping americans in the dark about major news stories? because that is what is best for your bottom line? that you can "guide" the news so you, as a business, can benefit?

consider this. you have access to the public airwaves at our pleasure. and things are changing. the only way bush will get elected is if he steals the election again (and once was enough, thank you. ain't gonna happen). and anyone (and that includes corporations, since they are now the equivalent of a person) involved in thwarting the will of the people will be considered treasonous.

the people can take away the rights to the airwaves just a easily as we gave them to you.

and come the election, you may be hauled before congress to explain your actions. and you will have no legitimate explanation for the actions you have taken, other than to line your own pockets, at the expense of the american people.

it may be so 60s, but "the times, they ARE a changin'", again, and there is not a damn thing you can do to stop it.

we are looking forward to the challenge.

see you in the voting booth, where we are going to make damn sure that our votes are counted, and counted accurately.

xxxxxxxx

All Propaganda All the Time. Complained about Blitzer, Schneider, Woodruff and their whole emphasis on only using a handful of Dems as guests and their having NO counters to Republican appearances or the President's speeches or fund raisers.

Said that I feel there's a total "Lock Down" on reporting from Iraq and politics at home and that I felt they had become more conservative and biased than even Fox news who is known to cater to the Weekly Standard/Wall St. Journal Editorial page folks.

137. I just sent mine
It was long. I was going to copy and paste it here, but I lost the top part. Here's some of it. The beginning part asked about where responsible journalism went - how people like Cronkite investigated, and also went on about how I thought Bush's administration is the most corrupt ever. And how Bush wants a power grab. And how Bush's administration is TRULY Anti-American. Said their coverage was enabling all of this. Before the part below, I mentioned how they spin polls and haven't given Bush's low approval ratings the same coverage of Bush's high approval ratings. And said they should follow up on the Clarke and Woodward stories. I'm sure I'm leaving a couple things out.

Here's the part I recovered:

I want you to tell the public about Cheney's energy papers. I want you to tell the people about Bush's fraud involving the Medicare bill. I don't want you to hide the death and destruction that have occurred in Iraq. I want you to say how Iraq has now TURNED INTO a terrorist state. You should report our Saudi connections. I want you to say how the rest of the world views us. You should report how Afghanistan is not as under control as Bush wants us to believe. You should report how Bush's domestic programs only have corporations in mind and not the American people. And many more things. You were way too hard on Clinton and are way too soft on Bush. You always have been too soft on Bush - from the 2000 coup right up to now. A lot of people hate Bush, and you would get better ratings if you weren't Bush enablers. Those people want their views represented, and if you don't do it, they will find a way - like with Air America. You and other mainstream news sources have contributed to the feeling that being against the Iraq war is anti-American. Fortunately, people are beginning to catch on to this misadministration without your reporting. All we want is news without slant.

- Matt

168. Circular Filed, But Go For It
A dozen or a hundred or a thousand emails...especially all saying essentially the same the (I'll bet the word "sucks" appears reguarly) from a partisan website will get the nuisance treatment than much more. If you're lucky, you'll catch the fleeting glimpse of an intern as your email is deleted or burried never be been seen by anyone.

But if you feel good getting something off your chest, go for it. If there was a way to establish a dialogue with someone of responsibility at that network (thus my asking if someone's gotten a response) may show some interest in disussing this issue with some real positive results. Nuisance emails are worse than spam...not only does it make someone mad, it creates a negative impression of those who support the cause.

174. Liberal Emails saying "Suck" ??
First of all, that word never enters any formal communications of mine, and I have a feeling most of the ones here who sent a letter or made a phone call. Secondly, I'm sure that freeper letters of "support" are incomprehensible. And that letters of indignation from some freepers, when CNN dares to report anything that makes their Messiah look slightly worse than divine, contain worse than the word "suck."

Go ahead and say it means nothing, but I think you're wrong.

175. Look At Some Of These Responses
There are some very well worded rants here, but that's it...a rant, nothing more or less...getting some steam off their chest. The point here is many are criticizing CNN as being biased and evil and bad but without any specific reference or how this is affecting the country.

When I write a letter of complaint, I frame it not to put the reader on the defensive, but to present evidence, my point of view and then let them respond. My question was, with all these emails, did ANYONE get a response? Is this tactic nothing more than creating a bad reputation for a place like DU (as I'm sure someone at CNN watches this board and 160 plus posts is gonna get their attention...especially when it's followed by 100 or so emails with similar wording.

I am as annoyed as anyone in what I see being reported and the free ride this regime gets in the press coverage, but this isn't the way to get the message across. Either it has to come through a well documented incident (ala Letterman) that challenges the network's "credibility"...or far more important...impacts their bottom line. When they see it's good "business" to suck up to the Anti-Bush factor (and that's how they'll look at it) then we'll get some "fair coverage"....of course it'll never be enough for the tin foil hatters.

Edited on Fri Apr-23-04 08:46 AM by Misunderestimator
My point was simply that with a flood of email it might waken them up to how many are on the other side... you know, the side that has waited too long in silence. Even though some of these are rants, they are intelligent and thoughtful rants. And if one is angry enough to rant, then why shouldn't that rant be put to words?

I have relied upon CNN for unbiased news reporting for more than two decades, but no longer. It seems since Ted Turner sold the network your bias toward Republican points of view (read: right wing) has reached an intolerable level.

The current radical Republican administration has taken this country down a path that has compromised our individual freedoms, killed thousands of innocent people needlessly (including more than 700 of our own service men and women), and made us the object of contempt in most regions of the world.

If I wanted slanted right wing reporting Fox News is already available. With the escalating scandal of electronic voting machines and Saudi princes "fixing" the coming election, your duty as a news organization is to educate and inform.

I will implore my family, friends and colleagues to boycott CNN, and to seek out more unbiased news sources.

I am outraged at your flagrant bias for a candidate in an election year. Your purposes, should you choose to remember, is to remain neutral, report facts, and HOLD PEOPLE AND INSTITUTIONS ACCOUNTABLE.

Whatever shred of credibility you had left, is gone after that Letterman fiasco. It was cheap and transparent. Shame on you.

Instead of manufacturing petty, inconsequential stories, you should focus on why we are in Iraq, why we are a target to terrorists, why the Pentagon was hording a trillion dollars, why the Bush Administration didn't do anything prior to 9/11, why there are no weapons of mass destruction...there are so many questions. Take your pick.

I do not know what has happened to CNN, but I do know this: you are no longer a credible source of information. You've managed in a relatively short time to muddy the CNN name. I have been a viewer for many years. However, your current direction of "journalism" is a disservice to the American people and makes a mockery of Journalism.

165. done, (and windy too!)
body of message:

I've been watching CNN, along with my family and friends, for several years now. Normally we'd just breeze on through with Headline News. Only recently had we found anything with staying power and that was Lou Dobbs, asking difficult questions that Americans really want to talk about.

The level of journalistic quality has been degrading so rapidly these several years, and most notably completely complicit with everything this current presidential administration does. And that's if we are lucky to find out any information about what this administration does.

We've now switched mostly to foreign news because we actually get what we want - news. The rest of the world realizes that bias will slip into any reporting, but try to minimize it with a standard format basic to just about all writing: concrete detail followed by commentary. They report world news, they report governmental news, science news, and only at the very end do we get fluff. Here, we get fluff first, especially if it is going to conflict with political interests or deal with hard complex issues. Guess what, most people don't want their news to be Entertainment Tonight, they want to be informed.

I think you are failing your job right now and I am sorely embarrased that I must rely on foreign news to stay abreast of current events. This is an intolerable situation. And this attempt to swing into the latest fad to capture audiences is just sad. Don't emulate Fox's saturation of bias followed by schizophrenic denial of it. Don't emulate ET chasing after the latest bit of gossip and holding us in a death grip of several days of the same boring details. Don't emulate the rampant punditry who sit there and pontificate all day long without any accountability to facts or real analysis. Just do good journalism.

It's not that hard, the rest of the world seems to be able to do it with less money and prestige. Maybe Ted Turner needs to come back because you are becoming as incompetant as the pretend news you want to emulate. There is no success, and no future in that.

An honest warning: change to the basics of journalistic integrity or be forgotten like the rest.

170. I regularly bitch at them
Here's today's contribution:

Demographically, CNN needs to remember that the MAJORITY of voting Americans did NOT select G.W. Bush as their President. That majority of the discontented has grown extensively and continues to do so as the lies, ineptitude and corporate favoritism of the current Administration becomes more and more obvious, Iraq decays into a quagmire and the deficit/economic hardships explode. When you give extensive coverage to a man that many consider a foolish, unintelligent imposter and puppet, thousands upon thousands of viewers are switching to other channels! If you're concerned about your ratings (and profits) you'll stop pandering to an Administration that is hated and reviled throughout the world. It's time to back away from the losing team if you expect to retain your place in the ranks of "news" providers rather than become just another convenient mechanism in their propaganda machine. The viewers of America are waking up.....it's time for CNN to follow the trend!

CNN is no longer news. It's an entertainment/propaganda station. You do not ask questions and try to find the truth. There is not one person there I would call a journalist. John King tries, but he is weak too. All you do is put out right wing talking points. Your Fox News wanna be approach is overt and disgusting. You are as fair and balanced as Fox.

I am no longer watching CNN. I hope your ratings continue to plunge. It would be funny if you fell behind MSNBC. And your ratings will continue to plunge as long as you are all spineless (which you are). My advice to you is to stop editorializing and start reporting. In disgust, Bleachers7

Put in a positive comment that they are not as bad as Fox. And then I went quite a bit with even more damning praise. Repaid them in kind.

For those of you who continue to watch CNN you really should be targeting their sponsors/advertisers -- it is much more effective. They are the ones keeping CNN afloat.

198. Done. Here's what I sent. Useful for all corp media.
I'm saddened by your refusal to carry in-depth coverage of the current White House's extensive corruption and, more importantly, failures in national security and foreign policy.

I remember the Pentagon Papers and Watergate back when journalism was an important watchdog on the government power that effects all our lives.

Sadly, you have become a delivery system for White House talking points.

My family, friends, and I will look to other media channels for the information we need to be an informed electorate.

The withering of our democracy and the lives lost as a result is on your head as failed journalists.

Thank goodness for Richard Clarke and his best-selling book which has been picked up for a future movie. I wonder whether Clarke's book was energized by losing his friend O'Neill.

O'Neill's power now is as a martyr and a symbol. So he still has a lot of power to do good after he's gone.

I hope everyone will take the time to watch this program.

Why has your network become a mouthpiece for the Bush administration? It is becoming clear to many that this is the most corrupt administration in American history. But you refuse to ask the hard questions and expose the wrongdoings of our national leadership. Are you real journalists or partisan propagandists? I'm not so sure anymore. Please stop trying to emulate the ridiculous Fox News and remember your responsibility to this Nation.

This is good stuff, guys. You're all a bunch of Sam Addamses and Patrick Henrys and Tom Jeffersons!

And for those, here, who've become dejected enough by everything that's gone on and all the ongoing bad news, just keep this in mind: How will you feel if things go all the way to hell - and you'd done NOTHING AT ALL to stop it? Even if worse comes to worst, our consciences are clean. Small comfort, I know. But I'd rather face adversity knowing I did everything I could to stop it, rather than having to live with the silent soul killer of realization that my inaction had helped to enable that adversity. It's like with all those rallies and marches many of us joined during the run-up to the war. Yes, I know, they wound up not doing any good. Even all those millions around the world were not able to stop the juggernaut toward war. But I'm proud that I stood up against it ANYWAY - especially since we all turned out to be correct, and rather prescient, I might add. I can live with myself a lot more easily for having done what I could, instead of feeling remorse, now, that all I did was sit back and let my discouragement get the best of me.

Remember that photo during the Tiennamen Square (sp?) turbulence, with that ONE SINGLE GUY in the roadway, standing down a long line of big, ferocious-looking tanks? If it weren't for that ONE SINGLE GUY, where might those tanks have gone?

And note here, we have what looks like at least 200 of those ONE SINGLE GUY efforts here...

241. Done and gladly so. Here is what I sent which was based on a letter
on this thread.

For sometime now, CNN has been my source for news and commentary. Unfortunately, I feel I must now look to other sources for unbiased reporting.

CNN now seems to only present the Republican right wing perspective. The current Republican administration has repeatedly lied to the American people, promoted and followed policies that erode our constitutional rights and killed 700 American soldiers and countless innocent civilians.

Now, CNN, seemingly following in the footsteps of Fox News, spews nothing but the points of view of the Republican right wing.

We have a choice, and our family has chosen to no longer use CNN as a news source. We will boycott CNN and will support people of like minds to do the same.

Sincerely,
