* Calls for Reversing Wetlands Losses
Edited on Thu Apr-22-04 03:11 PM by fryguy
Warms my heart to see the Environmental President at work on Earth Day. n/t

<snip>

"Bush is calling for six federal agencies that oversee natural resources to restore and create at least 1 million acres of wetlands, improve 1 million acres and protect 1 million acres over the next five years. He says the goal can be met through his 2005 budget request of Congress for $4.4 billion in conservation programs, including $349 million for two wetlands programs."

Start the clock, how long before he under-funds or completely forgets about this proposal??

Or maybe he's going to reverse wetlands losses by giving a no-bid contract to Halliburton to flood them with raw sewage or some other toxic substance that we are having problems getting rid of every day.

5. Perhaps.......
Maybe the plan is to "outsource" all the wetlands to Mars?

:shrug:

6. Yep. Odious Soviet Lies. we've seen it before.
We'll see it again.

Wonder what LIES Emperor Jeb is going to invent to cover up the mass deportations to the Ashcroft Memorial Re-Education and Re-Christianization Camps in the Sonoran Desert?

Watch the neo-cons and GOP claim credit for creating wetlands when global warming inundates coastal cities and farmland.

8. It's too late for some of us, Bush, you moron!
Some of us have to live with your developer's mistakes, Bush. Huge retention ponds with eroding slopes due to known seepage problems. Can you believe these morons would add fifteen feet of soil to acres of wetland area, and then leave the maintenance to unsuspecting homeowners?

That's Florida development for you, at its finest.
