Weiner's article today - "Time to Go for the Jugular"
Man this is what I have been saying all along. We cannot win by being nice. We cannot win by playing fair. We cannot win by showing everyone how much smarter we are. We cannot win by showing stats and charts and graphs about the issues.

We win by being as mean and underhanded as they are. We win by turning their own dirty tricks on them. We win by showing how dumb and incompetent they are. We win on the issues by tugging heartstrings and making old ladies weep for better times.

That is how we win.

I honestly believe sometimes the Dems in charge really don't want it bad enough. If they did, they would fight harder. If they did they would talk louder. If they did they would spend every waking hour loudly proclaiming the Repugs for the dirty underhanded bastards they are.

Where is the outrage from the leadership? Where is the outrage from the candidate?

Kerry needs a little of Dean's chutzpah and moxie. He comes off MORE stiff and boring than Gore did, and we know where that got HIM. JFK needs to hit The Daily Show. He needs to get on Air America. He needs to go on Real Time. He needs to get himself over to MTV. He needs to show that he is smart and fast on his feet. He need to show that he understands the troubles of the common man.

If the Democratic leadership and our candidate don't jazz up their message and get fired up soon, we won't have to worry about BBV. The election will be over before it starts.

5. It's not just the faithful...
If one person in any argument is silent or does not protest enough, they look like they agree. Silence in most people's minds implies consent. If you do not disagree that means you in some way agree with that which is being said.

That is why people in the middle vote Repug. At least they are saying something. They distinguish themselves by being LOUD.

7. DU: Shallow Throat -- well worth reading... and well worth passing...
to friends, neighbors, email circle, etc. We ALL need to be screaming at our Democratic leaders that now is the time to strike. I am sick and tired of this pussy-footing around bullshit. I am a realist, I know that just about everybody in DC is feeding out of the same trough. They all play the same game. Well, this boy is TIRED OF THIS SHIT. Now is the time. We need a change. If our "democratic leaders" won't give it to us, then they've got to go.

First things first, $hrubco and everyone connected to $hrubco, needs to be run out of DC on a rail. Second, INVESTIGATIONS, INVESTIGATIONS, INVESTIGATIONS. Third, time to hold EVERYONE accountable. I don't do my job right, I'm held accountable. I cheat the company, I'm held accountable. It's time to hold EVERY politician to the same standards you and I are held to. While we're talking about accountability, let's enact bill to the US Constitution that mandates if the draft is instituted, there are no deferments, anal cysts or not. If one goes, everyone goes. And the first to go should be the sons AND DAUGHTERS of the politicians. No longer should the poor, disadvantaged and "lower classes" shoulder the burden.

But first and foremost, $hrubco must be stopped, AT ANY AND ALL COSTS.

8. I agree on your draft idea...
It seems awfully easy for the men in congress to send off other people's kids to die. The wealthy kids get deferments and posh assignments while the poor kids get sent off to clean latrines in 110 degree heat.

I have already decided that, should the draft come, I am leaving this country. Even though my son is only 3, the perpetual wars that they will begin if they have poor kids as cannon fodder will still be around when he is old enough to draft. I will not let my son get killed in a rich man's war.

We need to start hitting, and hitting hard. There has been so much SHIT to come out in recent weeks and we should have people (not just Kerry) on major talk shows every night pounding away at *...

Line up James Carville, the Clintons, Charlie Rangel, Al Sharpton, Howard Dean, Wesley Clark, the Congressman from Michigan that had the Iraq war lies database, Ted Kennedy, Max Cleland, etc... have them make the rounds of all the talk shows. Are you telling me that Bill Maher would turn down Bill Clinton? MTV would turn down John Kerry? I don't think so.

Heck, give them daily talking points.

I also like the Ross Perotish idea of buying time on Network TV. Do it on short notice and say, "We are here because George Bush would not face me in a real hour long debate on policy."
