Save the Children - Mother's Day report on plight of pregnant girls
Edited on Thu Apr-22-04 11:22 AM by phoebe
around the world and the consequences of being pregnant at such an early age. The religious right naturally are seizing on the use of condoms and abortion as being "promoted" as options to help these children and as usual, abstinence is the only solution.

I challenge one of these "christians" to live a week in the squalor and despair that these children have to fight day in and day out, fighting for food, shelter and clothing, let alone any sort of medication while pregnant and abandoned by their families. I guess it's more important to drive a Mercedes, live in a $300,000 house, wear Prada and attend $3000 dollar a plate fund(ie)-raisers for Bush than to actually feed/clothe or love a child that isn't from their own income bracket.

Pitiful..

How the National Right to Life sees the report

"It's one of many organizations that's got NGO status with the United Nations," Gans said. "(And) we have heard continuous sob songs come out of many of these organizations."
