It's always a Democrat that comes with a shovel to clean up elephant shit

At least, from the start of the 20th century forward...From the time of Coolidge and Hoover in the low-tax, high spending '20's and the Depression that followed, it was a Democrat, FDR, that came to the rescue. People had never been more desperate.

Then there was Nixon with his lies about ending the Viet Nam War and the scandal-ridden Watergate Administration. He made a deal with Gerald Ford for a pardon. Troops had deserted and gone to Canada rather than fight in what they thought was a useless war. The country was divided and it was questionable whether or not there was an honest man to take the helm. It was Jimmy Carter that restored the faith in our government, to a large degree with his human rights policy, and he granted an amnesty to all the young people that had fled to Canada rather than go to war in Viet Nam. He, too, was a Democrat.

Then there was Ronald Reagan with his big smile and Iran Contra scandal - who had no respect for the Constitution or the duties of the President and the Congress as outlined in that Constitution. His VP was George Bush Sr. They spent us into oblivion. When they left office, we had the largest deficits in our history. Enter Bill Clinton, another Democrat.

Then, with $200 million in his warchest, and the willingness to do whatever it took to take the WH back, George Bush Jr came onto the scene. He took a huge surplus, which had been predicted to go to $5 trillion dollars, and spent it all like a drunken sailor and broke his own father's recrd for the largest deficits in history. He strode arrogantly on his make-believe pony and turned his back on the UN and most of our traditional allies. He was too busy playing politics and making enemies to notice that terrorists were ready to attack NYC and Washington. He had no idea. He was an Alfred E Neuman, in way above his head. Then, for personal revenge or whatever, he took our nation to war and up to this point, we have lost over 700 American lives and countless thousands of Iraqi lives. Is it time for another Democrat to come in with a shovel and clean up another mess by an elephant? This time, he better bring a big shovel.

2. As John Stewert said last night.
While John Kerry was serving his country, bush* was doing the "Animal House" thing in 1971.

4. As an IT person and one that knows a lot...
of Professional Programmers, I would love to see these Programmers
write an intricate program that would create a scenario of what would happen
if there was an extended period of time (40 years) that Republicans held all the majority of the House, Senate and the office of the President.....and of course, the same with all Democrats.
The Program would have to take everything that's happened in the past
history of the United States and extrapolate it for the future. I realize that there would be a lot of research and untold hours of programming but Man o Man, would it be telling!!

7. Well, I can only speculate, but...
...we probably all would have Trent Lott hair helmets, our lips would be thin and blue, we'd be saying nukuler, we'd be speaking in racial code words, we'd be paying no income taxes, but the national sales tax would be 452% on all non-luxury items and zero on luxury stuff, we'd all be Christian, there would be no more government run public schools, there would be 84% adult illiteracy, women would know their place and that would be in the home, Chevis Regal Scotch would be $6,745.00 a fifth, our air quality would be the worst in the world, but the pollution would not be created in American, it would be floating by from all the out-sourced manufacturing plants that went overseas and there would be a surplus Humvee military vehicle in every American suburban driveway up on blocks waiting for the annual allotment of a tank of hydrogen gas fuel that would take us only for a short drive.

8. Boy..Ain't that the truth....
...Also, the Debt would be so 0ver-whelming that everybody would realize that we would NEVER be Debt-Free.
Anybody making over $200,000 would pay virtually Zero Taxes, there would be "Company Stores" on every corner, Church attendance would be Mandatory and I suspect, crime absolutely rampant.

.....And you know that sad, sad thing? Dumb-Ass Americans would STILL vote for the Repugs...sigh...

5. Two words:
Joseph Welch. The man, a Democrat, if I'm not mistaken, that stuck it up Tail Gunner Joe's ass back in the fifties.

We are currently knee-deep in elephant shit. If this isn't the worst Republican administration since Nixon's, I don't know which one is. And, yes, the Dems are going to have a huge pile to clean up this time as well.
