Do you really think a draft would deter these idiots?
Edited on Wed Apr-21-04 05:16 PM by Christ was Socialist
A lot of us on this board are grouping the straussians and neo cons who more often than not are athiest, and the christian, pro war, middle class, idiot republicans.

From hearing these people talk i have come to the conclusion that people who vote republican are like an abused wife that loves her husband so much he can do no wrong. Even if thier children start dying they will become more extreme, saying "my son/daughter died serving this great country" and the liberal backlash would be enormous thanks to the rw controlled media, sympathetic to trrop deaths. Of course the children of the rich will find loopholes, and the middle class/ christian voters are idiots for voting for him in the first place, so they would jsut be more adament in thier support, and there would be a surge in religious activity, because americ is a weak minded country. Even during ww2 we didn't get invaded, and we are more prosperous than anyone else, and look at the reaction after 9/11. Tommy franks said it himself, if a wmd goes off in america kiss the constitution goodbye because the people would want security. So don't think the draft would deter support, after all look at vietnam, where 89% of those polled were AGAINST the Student protestors. This makes my support for the weather underground even stronger. We need to learn from the mistkes of the anti-war movement during vietnam, and heavens there were alot of them.

1. NO chance many the damn fools who were wounded in
Vietnam still are mad we pulled out. Remember 35% of this country are ignorant bigoted morans who live in a John Wayne fantasy world and can't wait to send there children to die for the shrub and his evil empire.

2. Send poor Jose and Maria but leave dear Biff and Buffy at home
If Americans are going to let the Busher send kids to kill and die, every American should have to ask "Would I be willing to send my son or daughter?"

3. IMO, a draft would motivate young people to register to vote and they
would vote against Bu$h. College students already registered would further mobilize against Bu$h. A draft would also further energize an already united Democratic base.

Rest assured Karl Rove understands this. There will be no draft unless Bu$h is re-selected.

(BTW, do you have a link to a poll that indicated that 89% of people polled were against student protesters during Vietnam?)
