All respect to The Plaid Adder
I'd just like to say that I love The Plaid Adder's writing. I have never read a duff article by her; every one is well-written, entertaining, and I never seem to disagree with anything she says. Every single time I'm just right there with her all the fucking way. She's as good as Will Pitt in my opinion; she has the same anger, and her sarcastic wit harmonises with my mood more so possibly I prefer her articles. That's just a matter of taste.

She is an asset to the progressive movement. We need polemicists like her. She has a way of cutting throught the bullshit to the heart of the matter, often to make me exclaim: "why the hell didn't I see that??" The best example is her article from last week, pointing out the absurdity exhibited even by liberals of assuming us to be the source of the solution in Iraq, when that is impossible, for we are the problem. This week's article is another gem.

To be honest I'd like to see her articles published in papers like The Guardian, and I wonder if she's ever thought about submitting any? Anyway, I just wanted to express my appreciation. Plaidder, I'd raise a toast to you, but for that I don't drink, so I'll raise a glass of milk to you at least. Cheers!

6. Well, props to the admins for giving me a chance.
It's not everyone out there who's willing to give a weekly spot to a plaid snake they've never met.

It means a lot to me to have the platform. I've been writing all my life and never made a dime off it--at least not off the writing I care most about. Part of the reason I have given up on doing this professionally is that there are now so many gatekeepers who are so concerned with the bottom line that it is really difficult to get anything original or controversial out there, especially if you're unknown. One of the things I really appreciate about the DU admins is that they have never tried to rewrite any of the stuff I send them, which is highly unusual. So it is thanks to them that you guys get the pure Plaiddery goodness, warts and all.

I want to thank everyone for all the kind words, too--it really cheers me up to know people are reading this stuff.

C ya,

The Plaid Adder

2. hear, hear! another adder-head checks in
i look forward to wednesdays becuase there might be a new plaid adder piece to read, re-read, examine the many layers to the information as well as the total common sense summaries, and finally to send off to others who don't visit du. i even print out a copy to send to one of my best friends, a 77 year old radical lefty up in wisconsin.

the plaid adder rocks, and i agree, she should submit her work for wider publication.
