W.H. Press Corps: Is there ANYONE with balls?
That is to say...ANYONE with balls besides Helen Thomas? Seriously, I'm asking. If you know of any please post.

I think this article sums it up pretty well.

I love this exchange between Helen Thomas and Ari. An oldie but goodie.

9. Not fair. He said except Helen Thomas. she does not have BALLS,
which is an enormous advantage in the USA right now. Have you noticed that for all the FBI, Corporate, etc. scandals the first ones to come out swinging against the "evildoers" were female? And that the WTC widows are the ones taking personal risks to bring some truth out of the 9/11 commission?

WE DON'T NEED BALLS. WE HAVE COMMON SENSE, HONESTY AND LOVE AND REPECT FOR OUR COUNTRY.

6. Bill Plante and John King HAVE BALLS
that's the point: MALE BODY PARTS ARE NOT REQUIRED FOR COURAGE.

8. I thought we decided to use "backbone" instead of male testes
Many here are offended by the term "having balls" for being brave or having spine.

13. I am bothered by very little except for being inconsiderate to others
What purpose does the use of "Balls" serve that could not be served with "Spine, Backbone, Guts, Heart, etc. etc." Why the need to be inconsiderate? There was a huge thread about this very issue not more than a week ago. Many here are offended. Why deliberately offend those people. That is what bothers me a male, not the terminoligy itself. I have used such myself but not when I know it offends.

16. because in expression there is something very powerful
testostrone strong in the discussion of balls. be it women with balls or a man, it says something spine does not say. a very masculine feel and smell to it. a part of expression in language

do you know some people are offended if i say i dont like bush, in this area. and they tell me it is offensive, as if i should keep my mouth shut

hm............

thanks for sharing, as i said, i didnt follow the bitch and balls thread, even in sensitivity, for me it is not significant. anyone can just turn the channel, lol. hm

17. It's a harmless metaphor
I'm guessing those offended haven't spent much time in a locker room. Anyway, sorry to all those offended. We are a sensitive lot.

19. The problem is that yes, there may be balls, but they remain UNUSED.
So, in effect, what good are they? Call it backbone. Call it guts. Call it any body part you want. It's just awful in ANY CASE and needs to be resisted. The only way I can think of - is for more and more of us to call our reps, and to call our local papers, OR, if you can afford to, to call the media in New York and/or Washington, and tell 'em you are ONTO THIS. AND ONTO THEM. And that their lack of backbone is the reason why people still think Saddam was in bed with al Qaeda, and that Iraq had anything to do with 9/11, or that we're safer because of what we've done in Iraq, or that this White House truly has America's best interests at heart. It is on THEIR heads! If they think their listeners/viewers/readers want more backbone, they'll eventually HAVE TO respond. I'm guessing that the complaints just aren't loud or numerous enough. We have obviously not reached critical mass yet.

And by the way, anybody - ANYWHERE - recall a SINGLE MEMBER of the White House Press Corps sticking up for Helen Thomas? ANYONE?

If there ARE indeed balls, apparently they have yet to descend... David Gregory and Terry Moran are about it, and even they don't sink their teeth in far enough.

12. Folks, there is a simple rule that reporters have to follow
Ask a question that embarasses the chimp..... you never get to ask another. It's kinda hard for a reporter to make a living when they are refused the opportunity to inquire.

20. Maybe the question is, Why does the WH have this authority and power?
Historically, has the WH been able to decide who gets to ask the questions and whether they come back? If so, why? Suppose (although it would never happen) the entire WH Press Corps went on strike and refused to attend any more of what, essentially, if scripted and predetermined by pressie boys quaking in their shoes, is a propaganda session?
