Does anybody envision Washington becoming an extension of Hollywood?
I think the whole Ah-nold and Gary Coleman infiltration of the CA governor race is just the beginning. Americans are obsessed with celebrities and are very much influenced by them. I can start to see the whole political process becoming a farce headlined by pretty faces and million dollar smiles that are easily manipulated by the true elite in this country.

Or maybe I'm just overreacting and having a bad day?

3. That was the criticism from the right when Clinton was in office.
Remember all that handwringing about the "F.O.B." in the entertainment industry, like Linda Bloodworth and Harry Thomason?

4. It's already that.
The buzz at work (a wingnut haven) is that Arnold would be GREAT!!! When I informed them that good old Arnold was a notorious womanizer and hirer of hookers by the dozen, even while married to Maria, that info was all dismissed because "he wasn't president at the time," like that bastard Clinton was. My blood pressure is very high right now, friends.

So, do these RWers think that Arnold will reform and turn into a lily-white devoted hubby just because he gets to be governor?

And wasn't one of the big problems they had with Clinton was that he was messing around on Hillary before and during HIS governorship?

Oh, pardon me. I have overstepped. I keep forgetting it's all right for Republicans to do any damn thing, but it's not OK for Democrats.

5. Arnold is medieval in his thinking.
By that I mean he feels entitled to sex outside of marriage among other male privileges. This is the real reason he is a Republican. The unspoken truth about conservatives is that the men really do feel superior to women and can't consider them equals. If he had his way, I am sure Maria would be living in the back of the house swathed in a sheet and only allowed to meet his guests when she served them refreshments. Okay I exagerate, but I don't think I am that far off the mark. Her "career" was a little diversion he allowed her between birthing babies.

To be fair, I think Clinton suffers from the same type of male chauvinistic thinking when it comes to women. However, he does allow his wife to be his equal in every other way.
