George W Bush tells us these are troubling times and we must sacrifice. We must be willing to give up some civil liberties. We must be willing to put our sons and daughters in combat. These are hard times, and we must be willing to sacrifice.
Luckily for GWB, this sacrifice doesn't include his vacation days. He has taken more than his share of vacation days, running at a record pace right now, and these vacation days have done him well.
Under normal conditions the stress of the presidency changes the appearance of a president in 4 short years. From graying hair, to bags under their eyes, the stress and strain of leading a country is apparent on its leaders face. One would think doubly so for a leader during a time of great national tragedy and war. But comparing photos from 2000 to 2004, we were unable to distinguish between the two Bushes.
For some frame of reference, As of April 2004, Bush had taken 500 days off, compare this to Clinton who only took 152 days off over his TWO terms. Here is the best the whitehouse could come up with for this last August. Where is he? This was the longest continuous vacation taken by any president besides Richard Nixon.
Can you pick the right year for the picture in our little game.
