Do you believe CNN lied about the Yawning Boy
Edited on Tue Apr-20-04 09:45 PM by Must_B_Free
when they said:

1. the boy wasn't there, he was superimposed in?
2. the boy was there, but not behind the president?
3. the Whitehouse never actually called CNN?

Now, do you believe that CNN may be lying about its poll of the President's popularity?

1. the boy wasn't there, he was superimposed in?
A. CNN admits they had no evidence the video was fake.

2. the boy was there, but not behind the president?
A. CNN admits they had no evidence the video was fake.

3. the Whitehouse never actually called CNN?
A. I believe the White House did call, and CNN is lying in changing its story and saying that the White House didn't call to say the tape was fake.

2. When they say the "White House" called..

what they mean is that one of their CIA/Bush cronies on staff yelled from down the hall...

Fuck CNN. Pure Bush propaganda.

3. Either the WH called (and CNN lied) or the WH didn't (and CNN lied)
It's really quite simple!

CNN = Fox with better commercials

5. This is the story in the Washington Post
http://www.washingtonpost.com/ac2/wp-dyn?pagename=article&node=&contentId=A40808-2004Mar31¬Found=true

Since this is a direct quote it's pretty obvious the White House called during the broadcast...

Then CNN cut to commercial break. Right after the break, Kagan told viewers: "All right -- had a good giggle before the break, that video was from David Letterman. We're being told by the White House that the kid, as funny as he was, was edited into that video, which would explain why the people around him weren't really reacting. So, that from the White House."

4. That's BS....
...one of the nightshows had the boy on as a guest. This was several weeks ago now. You mean, the Bushies are saying it was a hoax? I don't believe it.

6. I think that the White House..
Edited on Tue Apr-20-04 09:46 PM by Kathleen04
really did call, but CNN *wasn't supposed* to say that the White House called. So after they said on the air that they had called..they probably got hell for it causing CNN to cover for the White House by retracting their statement and saying they were never called.

edit: clarity

7. The point is, CNN lied
and about basically nothing, to protect the president's image.

Do you think would lie about something very material to the President's image, like the poll?

10. Why else would the WH have appointed a "go to" man
for scheduling interviews with the kid? They called, their frogs jumped but Dave wasn't in the mood to be called a fraud.

9. I thought the *same thing* when I saw the
Bush-Kerry poll, with Bush ahead.

If CNN lied their ass off about something as inocuous as "yawning boy"

then

why would I trust one of CNN's polls. Clearly, they don't mind lying on Smirk's behalf.

How the hell do I know what people were *really* asked in the poll, and what people *really* said in the polls.

11. Means, motive and opportunity...
CNN certainly has the means to lie or rig a poll, same with the opportunity to do so and present it...but what is the motive? Why risk what little credability they have left? What do they gain more than 6 months before the election?
