June 30th and todays attack on the prison in Iraq
as disillusioned that i am, I cannot help but think that these events may be related. What better excuse to push back the date than the long anticipated civil war. I just don't see the Sunni's firing on Shiites (sp?) especially if one was contained in a big yard (prison). The CIA did have operatives in Iraq, they were called, i believe big dogs. I hope i am wrong. Bless our soldiers and the innocent Iraqi citizens that are now in the middle of this hellacious mess. If it is civil war, and it will be a miracle they survive being either killed for allah, jesus or FREEDOM (oil).

1. They aren't going to push the date back
That's the LAST thing they want. I'm starting to think that the instability is helping BUsh* by giving him a good reason to keep the military in Iraq.

2. Is there really even a point to the date????
The situation is not going to change. Our troops aren't coming home either. So this date, to me, is just a bunch of BS to make it look like they are making some kind of progress with their war of blood and oil while they and the Saudis get richer sitting at the alter of their temple of greed.

3. Yes, there is a point to the date
In order to establish a permanent military presence in Iraq, the US has to negotiate a Status of Forces Agreement (SOFA) with the Iraqi govt. Unfortunately, there is NO Iraqi govt at this time, so Bush* can't get a SOFA. If there is no Iraqi govt on 9/30, then there won't be a SOFA until sometime AFTER the US elections, when Bush* might be forced to leave the White House.
